We're going to Disney World in June with our 2 kids ages 8 and 5. We have had character breakfasts in the past at O'Hana and Chef Mickeys, but I would like to hear about other peoples' favorties. I'd like to do a breakfast and lunch/dinner. I'm actually not sure if Character lunches are available (except at the Crystal Palace in MK).

Also, has anyone ever heard about the ice cream social with the characters where you can enjoy ice cream sundaes :slurp: while visiting with characters?? Where is it?

Let me know your favorites - Thanks!

Can't wait for June!!! :sohappy: :sohappy:

Hi there!

We have only done Character meals at Chef Mickey's we've done breakfast and dinner there and have always enjoyed it. We've never done the ice cream social but I believe it is at the Garden Grill in the Land Pavillion at Epcot. If I am wrong, hopefully someone here will correct me.

If you have girls, they might enjoy breakfast at Cinderella's Castle or the princess breakfast at Epcot (I think in Norway). However, I hear the Cinderella breakfast is hard to get PS for.

I hope this helps. Enjoy your trip in June!! We'll be going in August!:sohappy:

I love character meals..........if your children like the Pooh character...1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian has an excellent buffet character meal & I've heard they have a nice breakfast as well with Mary Poppins though I've never been. The Liberty Tree is lots of fun as well....family style meal served at the table & the characters dressed up in Revolutionary War type costumes. There is a nice breakfast at the Beach Club as well with Admiral Goofy & the gang. Have a great time whatever you decide to do. Can't wait to do our character dining in Oct/Nov. :sohappy: :sohappy:

The ice cream social is at the Garden Grill in Epcot. It's around $7 a person and you get a large ice cream sundae type dessert. It's expensive for ice cream but cheap for character dining!

We enjoyed it. Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale were there.

Our favorites are Cinderella's and Chef Mickey's. Both delicious and great character interaction. Have fun!

OK - three of our favourites:-
MK - Crystal Palace for breakfast with Pooh, Tigger (watch those hands  ), Eeyore and Piglet - an excellent way to start off the day.
MK - Liberty Tree Tavern for evening meal with Chip & Dale, Goofy etc - we did it last year for the first time and thought it was excellent.
EPCOT - Garden Grill for evening meal with Chip & Dale, Mickey etc. Again agreat place for characters but the meal is not the best.

buffets

We especially enjoy the Cape May Cafe Dinner Buffet at the Beach Club, (if u like ur seafood, of course! ). They have a great selection of all american food as well. Although the dessert bar is very good, the main focus are the seafood dishes -du jour.
The breakfast buffet is good, with Goofy and Minnie and co.
The best dessert bar at a buffet is to be found at Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Absolutely DIVINE.Try the bread pudding with vanilla sauce.
We find the Crystal Palace a good choice. A wide selection and unlike the other places mentioned, you get to meet and greet with Winnie!!
