Character Hotline and Information Program (CHiP)

I am currently reading “Be Our Guest – Perfecting the art of customer service”, and it stated in the book that every cast members has access to a phone number to call, to find out when and where to find each character in the parks. Is the CHiP process still in place, and if so what is the phone number?

You can get a CM to call and find out where your favorite character will be. But they cannot give out the number. Sorry!

Yup, it's still in place! Ask any CM near a phone and they can call for ya.

Yes, like the these two said only CM have the phone number. If you wanna see a character and see if they are out your best bet is to go to City Hall and have them call the hotline for ya.

HAHA! I used to call the Chip hotline all the time for Jasmine and Aladdin - those two were needed EVERYWHERE!

I am enjoying all the information inside this book. I found this excel spreadsheet on "Where in the World do I find characters" while surfing online. Does any know if it is up to date? It says it was revised June, 2004. Enjoy!

For some reason, I always had to call about Minnie Mouse! Once I called about Aurora, but every other time it was Minnie! :lol:

Wow! Somebody sure did alot of work. I'm sure its as up to date as possible. This past July we saw more characters than we've ever seen...many we had never come across before. The best thing to do is check when you get there to see if your favorite will be out that day. :wave:

I will agree that Disney has really poured on the character presence as compared to years past. But now if they could only wander around like in many years past.

I never new that it would be possible to find out when characters would be out. Disney just thinks of everything!
