As far as I know there is only the Playhouse Disney character dining for breakfast and lunch at Hollywood and Vine. If you don't have little ones then I suggest skipping it. I've heard it goes either way on being good or not. We've never been since the last time we went my son was the only little one in our group. He wasn't that big on the characters there.

Playhouse Disney is the only one at DHS - and no classic Disney characters come to it, just the ones from Playhouse Disney. I wish they would add another one - i'm not a fan of the TS dining at DHS. Hope this helps!

My fave at DHS is Toy Story Pizza Planet! :slurp::slurp::slurp: Nothing exciting but super yummy!!! It's a CS place. And I know that 50's Prime Time and Sci Fi - are very popular - not character dining but themed really well - but imo, it's not my thing. But they are very popular.

We did the Playhouse Disney Play n' Dine and our two daughters had a blast. We went for a very late breakfast, and then the lunch started coming out as well so we had our choice. The food was good but nothing memorable, but the characters were great. Maybe it was slower than usual, but we got more attention from the characters than at most character meals, and we have done just about all of them. They also have frequent dance parties with a host singing and dancing kids songs. It was fun, but quite loud!!

We also love Pizza Planet. They have really good pizza (for Disney fast food), and and nice patio kind of out of the hustle and bustle. Don't eat inside with the arcade unless you have to, as it is so loud...

Either way, these would be about the only good places at DHS for a quick family oriented bite. We have heard great things about Starring Rolls for sandwiches, but it was closed the one time we went to go (I think it only does lunch...)

There is a character breakfast at the Beach Club at Cape May Cafe, which is really only a short walk from DHS. DH & I walked it last week, and it follows a pretty path right from the park to the resort. The breakfast features Goofy, Minnie & Donald - sometimes it changes but it's always major characters. You could go into the park at opening, get a fastpass, ride something, and then head over for breakfast. :)

This is a great bfast!! The character interaction is awesome!! And you can take a boat ride too from DHS to Beach/Yacht Club. This is a great suggestion!

My experience with the character meal offered at Hollywood and Vine at DHS was less than positive. The characters were just great. It was JoJo, Goliath, Leo and June (Little Einstiens). The food was awful! There was just not the quality that I expect from Disney.

Mama Melrose is a good restaurant. I've rather enjoyed it the past few trips.

Have a great time!
