For those of you who have done the Character Couture make up and hair, was it worth it? We are doing this on our next trip and I'd love to know if the results are worth it. There aren't a lot of photos showing different looks online.

A friend of mine did it in April and love it BUT she did say it was one of those things you do once just for fun. Have you heard of disney bounding? it's a bit like that.

Now the difference between it and biddie bobbidi boutique is that these ladies are actually hairstylist and make up artist and have their licenses hanging on the wall. She got a package for I think it was $180 for hair and makeup. Now in my neck of the woods a wash blowdry and curl usually runs me 70 bucks with tip so we think 180 for both was crazy out of the world expensive.

I thought she looked really good and the girl she got was a professional make up artist so she had experience with dark skin complexions. very pretty but very dramatic, I mean how often do you walk around with blue, pink and gold sparkle eye shadow?? you do have to bring your own foundation.

Yes we are only doing hair and make up. It still is $75 and we figured this would be a one time thing. Just from looking online I feel like some of the looks are very hit or miss.

Going from pictures online, it doesn't look very worth it to me. The makeup is way too dark and dramatic, and the hair usually doesn't look like anything you couldn't do yourself. I would just save the money. That's just going off of online pics though. Maybe it looks better in person.

I just did this a couple weeks ago for mnsshp and loved it! They are able to do almost any Disney character which is why maybe they don’t post a ton of options online? If you check out Instagram with searching #charactercouture you can find some that have been done. I had Ariel for my character and thought she did a great job! It’s not for everyone though, I know some people who don’t like a ton of make up.

We have it booked for our trip in February. Sure I can do it all myself but it seems like a fun little experience. Pictures I’ve seen are hit or miss but it’s basically dramatic stage makeup so it will be a tad over the top. I think the makeover depends on what character you want and I’m sure if they go for neon blue eyeshadow you can ask them to to maybe not lol. I say go for it, $75 for a fun experience away from the parks is worth trying at least once.

I think it's supposed to be dramatic, I mean your getting made up like a character. It's one of those things like Cinderella's royal table that you do more for the experience than anything else. I mean you drop 200 bucks to basically eat pancakes.

That is awesome to hear!! Did you have any say in your makeup such as "don't use this or that"?

I had a girl (last name Scully - she is awesome!) - She asked me how dramatic I wanted my makeup. I said somewhere in the middle, as I didn't want it overly done, just not my style. She definitely asked for my input along the way with colors, if I liked the idea she had for my hair. Here's my completed look. (I bought the bow on Etsy)

Personally if you want to do it just for fun I would recommend the Pirates League it's for all ages it's a lot of fun and it cost way less, they just don't do a whole lot to your hair though they concentrate on the pirate or mermaid make up.
