Character Cavalcade

Has anyone experienced the Character Cavalcade...what was it like....will it be permanent??

The character cavalcade is already gone. That was something that Disney did at the resorts to take the place of early openings at the parks after attendence fell off after 9-11. They would bring a bunch of characters to the hotels to interact and sign autographs. The kids liked it but I don"t think that it was good enough to replace early openings.

I am going to stop this confusion right now....The Character CARAVAN is what replaced the early openings....yes its gone......the Character CALVACADE is a test show that they did on main street at the end of the night on days that the park closed at 6pm and there was no fireworks or spectro....it was only designed as a test and they did it a few times back in oct/early nov.....and to answer your question..no i havent seen....but im sure it was good for kids...but most could see it as a cheap rreplacement for fireworks/spectro....as of daylight savings ending, its is now dark enough to do fireworks at 6:15...MK fireworks are currently scheduled everynight the next 2 weeks....no word on if or when the CALVACADE will return

I saw the last test of this show on Nov. 4. It was the worst show I have ever seen at Disney. Characters came down main street and danced around. They did like the hoky poky. It was pithetic. I would much rather see fireworks or spectromagic.:fork:

Or darkness. Remember, it's not a replacement. Sure, I want my damn parade now! Ditto for fireworks. But they wouldn't have them even if this thing never existed. So, IMHO, this is better than the darkness that existed before.

Sorry for the incorrect info. I got confused. That's why I don't post much on here. I"m just not as sharp as the rest of you. I enjoy reading MOST of it though.

While I am hearing here that the actual show was bad, the recent reported influx of characters seems like a good thing...they probably are related ideas from the same (in this case) excellent mind...

my post was directed towords Elaine...but Elaine keep posting...nothing personal....your post was 100% right.......and to Marijil...sorry not directed at you...... Testtrack321.......your right...anything is better then nothing.....weather or not it was a good show or not....bottom line is they wern't going to do FW or Spectro anyway so at least it was something to give guest's a warm and fuzzy feeling as they exit the park.....and yes it is part of the new "character invasion"...so one bad idea but one great concept...a step in the right direction...finaly!!! maybe...it is disney
