Me and my partner are going to Disney for 16 nights at the end of March. We originally booked at Chef Mickeys for one of the mornings but we are now questioning whether or not we should cancel that, after reading many reviews and look at booking at a 'less expensive' character breakfast. Any suggestions for other Character Breakfasts? For what its worth, neither of us are big breakfast eaters.......

My 3 cents for what it's worth...

What characters are you wanting to see as all are not the same. Figure out "who" you want to see and then figure out the best meal and location.

I'm a huge Donald fan hence Tusker House for breakfast..LOVED it! (I asked Daisey if Donald Kept a copy of 50 shades of grey on his nightstand it was a priceless reaction.)

1900 Park Fare (Dinner) For me this is the best and potentially funniest character experience. The step sisters druzella and anastasia steal the show..if you have a boy take a toy ring and have him to "propose" to either of them..or you husband for that matter..it can be quite entertaining.

1900 Park Fare Breakfast..we are doing this for the first time to catch the Mad hatter and company as Alice in Wonderland is a favorite of my wife..

It really just depends on the "who" you want to see most..

If you aren't big into breakfast, what is your motivation for doing it then? Breakfast is cheaper than lunch or dinner (usually), so pick your favorite characters and just enjoy it for what it is. As suggested, booking a later meal helps to move it more into lunch territory, and if you dawdle long enough at some of the locations that switch to lunch, you can usually partake in the lunch food as well. They all are fairly similar, different characters, and each does have their own signature thing, be it Pooh's Puffed French Toast or Strawberry Soup.

Thanks all for your suggestions.One of the main reasons we originally booked at Chef Mickeys was due to a friend of ours saying character breakfast is a must...... We booked Chef Mickeys as Mickey and Co' would be there, thats the only reason really.

Nothing wrong with Chef Mickeys at all. Breakfast is a favorite for many people for several reasons. One, the in park options are usually pretty poor. Not many places in park serve real breakfast, and eating the same 5-6 things from the CS location at the resort can get old, so a nice breakfast buffet can be a good switch up. Two, people like breakfast. For whatever reason most people like breakfast foods, bacon, sausage, eggs, etc so getting unlimited refills of those is usually appealing. Third, breakfast can usually be arranged so that it doesn't take time out of your park day. Most locations have bookings for before the parks open allowing you to get your meal and character interaction in and then still make it to rope drop. The resort locations usually don't offer lunch, but even if you do it at an in park location it can take 1 - 2 hours out of your touring day.

For two adults wanting a character breakfast, I say 1900 Park Fare because the Mad Hatter is a hoot.
If you wanted to forego an early breakfast and the character aspect of it, I'd say book the last breakfast you can get at Kona Cafe and call it brunch on a day that you plan to go to the MK.

We have reservations there next week cant wait!

We have been to all in years past and have no love for TS Character breakfasts. They all serve the same eggs, bacon, blah blah blah for a high price. The only one we will still visit is Tusker House. They offer some very different variations of the typical breakfast fare which is a nice change like cheese blintz's, spicy jalapeno corned beef hash, bobotie and fresh carved ham.

Time wise, we would get a late ADR for breakfast and ride KS first thing in the morning for a ride or 2 depending on the weather and animal activity.

We have been to Chef Mickeys, Akershus, Hollywood&Vine for breakfast, and Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Fair for dinner. The best of them both food and character wise was Akershus. Chef Mickey, H&V, 1900 Park Fair and CP were all even for the character interaction. But the worst food that we had was at 1900 Park Fair, some of the food was cold and it seemed to take them forever to refill food that was either running low or just plain out, we will not be going back!

For our up coming trip we have ADRs for Chef Mickey, Akershus, Tusker House, Crystal Palace, Hollywood& Vine for breakfast and Chef Mickey for dinner (date night for DW and I, my parents are taking our DD for the night)

We loved 1900 Park Fare Breakfast. Mad Hatter is alot of fun, but the food stood up too! We've not done Chef Mickey for breakfast, but preferred 1900 over Crystal Palace bfst.
