I just made my rental car reservations...got a good price and it includes a child's character breakfast! Wooo hooo! So which character breakfast do you recommend? And it's short notice...we will be there 17-23 May! Should I anticipate problems getting reservations? Do the adults have to purchase a meal to attend...if so, what is the price. I just wanna be the official photographer for my grandson!

Heading for the great escape.
I liked Donalds Breakfastasaurus at AK. The foods typical breakfast buffet fayre, but the characters were very attentive during my visit.
I had problems last May with PSs best to do itsooner rather than later.

Have a look at the small print. We bought the 10 day tickets, which come with a Character meal. However, not all are available, such as Cinderella's Royal Table. Unless there is more small print tosay otherwise, I would say that you will certainly have to purchase the other meals. Ifyou were cynical, you could say that giving away one child's ticket is a hook for you to buy the others. Prices - for breakfast $19.95 for adults and $14.95 for children, under 3's are free (at least that's what it is for CRT).

The 10 day tickets actually have very few character breakfasts on them. Having said that, we had no problem at all last year, waiting until we got to Disney and booking our seats then for Holloywood and Vine.

I guess the answer would also have to be where you are and how do you plan on spending your day. At the resorts we like:
Chef Mickeys at the Contemporary
Beach Club - Goofy, Chip and Dale with swim motif
1900 Park Faire (Grand Floridian) One of our DS's favorites - Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland , Mad Hatter, Dopey, Pinocchio and Geopetto I think we saw. The Mad Hatter runs around and asks if anyone has seen Mary
Ohana at the Polynesian - Kids get to have a little parade around the room.
If your are in the MK - then I would say Crystal Palace, Pooh and the Gang. If you get an early enough reservation you could get a jump on the park and be set to go.
Also I guess it would depend on what characters your grandson likes, but since it is kind of late, it might help if you planned a second choice, just in case your first is not available. I would also say the earlier the better. 8:30 9:00 gets pretty crowded. Take an extra piece of fruit with you for a quick snack until lunch. Have fun planning and enjoy the magic.

Last year we did Chef Mickey's and Donalds Breakfastasaurus and loved them both equally.

The only thing that swings me towards Chef Mickey's was that there was a great selection of food as they have a much larger serving area.

That said, you might have problems getting a PS this late. :(

We did Cinderellas breakfast last year and our girls loved it. The Crystal Palace though was one of our favorite meals and would highly suggest that. It depends a little on what your grandson really wants to see and whats available.

Well, we got reservations at the Crystal Palace for 8:25. Just my daughter and grandson are going, so my husband and I will lurk in the parking lot until the park opens (I'm the driver, so when one goes, we all go)! It was suggested that we arrive at the park about an hour early to be sure they get in the park and to the Crystal Palace in time.

When I made the reservation, I noticed it is for my daughter's birthday (she's the adult going but she's a huge kid at heart!). So I mentioned it to the reservation person and she asked several questions. So maybe they will do something cool for my daughter! It would really make her day!

I would love to go too, but I just really don't think it will be worth the extra buckage. As someone mentioned in a reply...a child's ticket sure makes you buy and adult's ticket! That's ok...my grandson's ticket was free and I can make my daughter's a birthday present.

Oh, and the free child's ticket voucher came with an Alamo car rental, not my Disney tickets. I won't get it until I pick up the car so I can't read the fine print just yet. But if anyone is going...an ad in the April Family Fun magazine saved me $60 off the car rental and I get the character breakfast voucher.

And I forgot to ask how long the breakfast lasts!

The food at Crystal Palace is wonderful and worth the price by itself. Plus, you get to watch your daughter and grandson have fun with the characters (and you can have the fun, too!) Use some of the money that you saved on the car to treat yourself to breakfast. You'll love it!

Welcome to the boards first of all! As marypopmom has stated already. Some of you selections may need to include where you are going for the day. Plus who is in your party. I am also going the same time as you May 16-22 and have had some problems booking breakfast on these dates already for Cindy's castle,Princess breakfast in Norway and Chef Mickey's are booked. At least last I checked last week for a party of 6. If you can get in, I would recommend on of those. If not, I would say next best is Crystal Palace in the kingdom.:sohappy:
