Character Breakfast with characters similar to Chef Mickey's

Just booked for early May and of course Chef Mickey's was all booked up (cept three times, one very early, and two very late sittings). I took a late time, but not entirely happy with it. My five yr old loves the sensational six more than the Princesses or anything else so I was wondering which character breakfasts have similar combination of characters? Prefer a buffet, but Table service might also do.

What about Donald's Safari Breakfast over at Animal Kingdom. I believe we saw Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Daisy there.

Otherwise there is Cape May Cafe which has terrific service. There is Minnie, Goofy and Donald. They used to have the munks there, but I don't think anymore.

There is also the Garden Grill, which we have never been to but I know Mickey and some of the gang are there as well.

We had the same problem with Chef Mickeys and instead opted for Breakfast at Ohana in the Polynesian.
We had a really delicious breakfast and the girls enjoyed meeting the characters. Mickey, pluto, Lilo and Stitch. There was also some dancing with the characters and just a really nice atmosphere.

Tusker House in AK... One of my favorites!!!

Another poster mentioned Cape May Cafe at BC and I agree the characters are similar and are dressed in their beach attire. However, definitely was not one of the best places I ate. Definitely prefer any character breakfast over this place.

Can't go wrong with Tusker House or Ohana, both have awesome breakfasts. (Tusker has a bit more to choose from) Just pick whichever one you will be closer to that day.

Try Mickey's Backyard BBQ over in Ft. Wilderness for something a little different. It had Mickey,Minnie,Goofy for sure and if I remember correctly Donald and Chip and Dale. If I'm wrong someone here can correct me.

Tusker House...if you do it, do it early. We have been there several times and every time they have ran an hour late, or more, than our ressie. It's always due to "computer issues" they say but I think they just get so backed up and the process of emptying a room before filling the next for the characters, etc. causes huge delays during the later hours. The last 2 times they stopped bringing out breakfast food and left the trays empty for lunch prep. People started complaining. This is a huge issue when the park is only open the short hours as it is and you waste one of them sitting waiting for a table. We love the food and place, but will probably pass to spend more time doing things. I do recommend if you want the expierence, just time it right.

Tusker sounds and looks like the best bet - it has a few good times left. Thanks for that extra bit of advice Missingdisney.

One last question, the time I have for Chef Mickey's is 11:40 on a Sunday, does anyone know how late the restaurant stays open? The reason I'm not happy with the time it has to be the final seating (as it used to be 11:20). While I haven't experienced the final seating at Chef Mickey's, I know at other buffets there is a tenancy for little or none of the best food to be available as they prepare to close the buffet. Anyone have experience with this at that restaurant?

We did the last seating for CM just a few months ago. We actually prefer this at this location. The dfference is CM only does breakfast and dinner except for certain busy times of year when they add lunch. There is no need to rush people out unlike Tusker House which technically switches over to lunch at 11:30 and serves all 3 meals. CM kept the food coming and of course, there were still desserts available, which was a nice treat since it by then it was lunch time and the kids thought it was neat to have ice cream after the Mickey waffles and eggs! The day we were there the characters just kinda hung out while people were still eating and we got to take A LOT of great pictures. I wouldn't shy away from that time at all. At Tusker House, I'd say no way, here it's a go. If possible, do both, they really are very different.

tusker house in my opinion has the best character breakfast. not just that, but the staff is excellent. the one downside is that Donald can only be seen outside (unless it rains).

Character interaction at Chef Mickey's was great but the food was not at all !!--if I am shelling out $100 for our family of 5, I expect better food---heard Crystal Palace food is better, so trying that this yr.

YIKES, Crystal Palace food was trash the one and only time we ate there, we did not like Chef Mickey's much either but we do love Ohana for breakfast, the food is great in comparison. The kids loved the Ohana characters and dancing in the congo line was so much fun for them while DH and I ate our fill!

We had just the opposite thoughts. We have been to chef Mickeys many times and Crystal Palace & Cape May cafe a few times. We have also tried the Donald Duck Breakfastasaurus at AK before it moved to Tusker. All have been great fun times for the kids with descent variety and quality. Last year we wanted to try something different and decided to giv Ohana's a try. It is family style for one(which is not such a big deal), but they come around one time and give you Mickey waffles if you want them. They were cold and stale. Not a big deal for me ... but my kids really wanted them and they were too hard and crunchy to eat. I guess we just like the fact of the larger variety at the buffets... especially with some finicky eaters. We tried Ohana's for breakfast but won't make that mistake again, although maybe we will get there for dinner one of these next trips.
