Character breakfast at The Crystal Palace question

Hi there, Mrs M and I did this last year and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. So much so that she's asked me to book again for our trip this September. Anyhow last year we had reservations for 8:05am and we'd like that time slot again. I can't yet book for September 20th onwards but will shortly be able to. The thing is whenever I go on and look what times are available at the latest date available, the earliest option I can see is for 8:40am. Do they still offer 8:05am reservations and they just get snapped up as soon as they come on, or is this early slot a thing of the past?

I'm in the UK so obviously in a different time zone, but is anyone aware what US time the days available for booking come online so I can be logged on at that point and ready to book the second it becomes available? I'm guessing maybe 12 midnight US time is when they become available but could anyone please confirm?

As always, thanks in advance ;)

The 8:05a ADR slot is the hardest to get at Crystal Palace. In fact, for any of the pre-park opening character meals...that first time slot is going to go fast. You should be able to see the hours for Crystal Palace on the restaurant's page. I know we had an 8:05a ADR this past September. The website used to say the earliest breakfast time was 8:05am, but I just checked and it now says 8am. Either way...any of the earliest slots are the first to go since it's the perfect way to get the pre-park opening meal experience without wasting actual park hours.

Edit- and booking online begins at 6am ET.

Remember to keep checking if you don't get it right away. We got an 8:05 am ressie for CP about 2 weeks before our last trip!

Hi I'm from the uk and ate at the crystal palace for breakfast in aug2012. We did adr about 60 days out-which was stupid we know-but did get a 8:35 slot for 4. This was emh though and the crowds could be different than ours was but I hope this gives an idea on how it could be for you.

@mergatroid ... I've had similar problems with getting the time I wanted and discovered that if I want 8:00 am, it works to put in 7:00 am. Sometimes the computer will 'give' you the times that it would like you to take. Play with the time a bit and you'll have more choices...it usually only gives 3 times.

This is one of our favorites and the 805 time is our favorite time. We are going in June of this year and have it on one of the NON-EMH mornings. We always arrive early enough to the gates to get in and take our photos on Main St. without 1,000 sweating rear ends in our backgrounds. lol. Then off to a nice breakfast to start our day. Good luck!

We decided to add CP for our May trip at something like 120 days out, and I was able to get an 8:05am breakfast reservation with no trouble. I hope/assume you won't have any difficulty, either.

Thanks! We're there for two and a half weeks so I'm assuming we should find a day that suits! Just want to avoid morning EMH too, main reason for the early reservation is to get some nice shots at the castle before park opening

The main reason we went for the first time last October was also for the photo opportunities. We discovered that not only did we get some great photos but also had a great time at the character breakfast itself. We had to laugh at the size of the plates though, they were the smallest plates we''d ever seen . It didn't matter as you could go back as many times as you wanted, however psychologically after a few plates you feel greedy though I'm sure that's the point.

On an aside, last year we had 8:05 reservations. We got to the MK entrance via the monorail for about 7:45am and were let in straight away. The cm at the one turnstyle open for the breakfast guests didn't even ask us if we had reservations, in fact he didn't say a word about the breakfast! It may have been because I was wearing a t-shirt with 'New York' written on it and he instantly started telling us he came from New York and how much he missed it so forgot to ask. So we had almost 20 minutes to stroll around Main St and get some great early morning shots. The best of course was the Walt & Mickey shot in front of the castle with nobody else in the frame .

Here's hoping those of us wanting to go from here are all lucky with our timeslots this year.

Oh wow, I've found that you can get in pretty early for your reservation, when we booked Tuskar House for 8.20AM I think we were in the park and everything for 7.50AM. It's really cool getting the pictures in an empty park but MK has to be the best one for it. I'm so excited, I've never been to Crystal Palace either so it'll be a nice experience... I've been to Chef Mickeys and didn't think it lived up to the hype, we thought both the food and character interaction at Tuskar House was better.

Ha, that's funny about the size of the plates! I actually noticed that in Tuskar House too, my plate was always overflowing with only a few items!

Fingers crossed!

I haven't been to WDW for 11 years so I am really out of the loop! But I've been on this website for almost 6 months now so I knew enough to get the ADRs in 180 days out. I also know I am awake at 4:00 AM (4:30 has been known to happen though!) so I took it upon myself to make all reservations for my party of 6 and the first choice given me when I logged on for CP was 8:05! Dumb luck sure does work for some of us!o_O

Well guys, thanks for all the help and advice. We've scored some 8:05's for late September and we're really looking forward to it :)
