OK- I know some characters are not able to sign autographs, but I don't know for sure which ones they are. And I don't know which ones have their "friends" sign for them. Any knowledge about this is greatly appreciated!

Hmm, let me try to remember which ones can't sign. King Louie and Beast don't. I belive Mr. Incredible doesn't, but I think he has a stamp. I think Buzz Lightyear has a stamp too.

If I think of any others I'll post.

I know Figment couldn't sign. He put a sticker in my daughter's autograph book.

A couple of tips even thou you didn't ask for them :D Buy a super thick pen or marker, it's easier for the characters to grasp. And buy a piece of velcro and put a little bit of it on the pen and a little on the book and stick the pen to the book. That way you aren't stuck looking for the pen while you are trying to have them sign. It worked so well for us. I actually sent that tip into Allears.

I read this tip on Allears!!! Several months ago...DH actually asked me why I had velcro on my list of things to buy. I still don't think he gets it. Personally, I think it's a great tip! Thanks!

If you look at the characters, that gives you an indiciation of who can sign, and who cannot. One of the first clues, does the character have a hard time closing their hand? Both Mike and Sully have a pretty gosh darn hard time of closing their hands, so cannot hold a pen. Must be a case of rare localized monster arthritis. However, sometime they have a time clock on the wall that will stamp your book with their names. The same went for characters like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles when they were at MGM back in the day. They had problems grabbing pens with their 3 fingers, so they had stamps instead. Second clue, does the character have abnormally long arms? Like King Louie, his hands practically drag on the floor. So he has hard times signing his name. Not sure if he has the same arthritis, or if his finger muscles are just weak from being so far away from his body.

Even within those characters, some days their handlers may have stamps for them, or they may not. I have been told both. I have seen people get the time clock stamps at MI, but I have also seen people be told they don't do it.

On our last trip, Buzz & Mike used a stamp. I bought an assortment of the large clicky Sharpies, and always had it ready to hand to the characters. Some of their "friends" even thanked us for being so prepared.

The kids also had a good time trying to match the color of the pen to the character; lime green for Goofy, orange for tigger, red for Minnie.....

I know to look at the arms when there, but I am currently working on my sons autograph book and was wondering if there were any characters to not bother making a page for... I guess if there is a chance of the time card thing then I should go ahead and do a Mike and Sulley page. That sort of thing, ya know?
