Character Autographs

Before we went to WDW last week, we purchased a bunch of Disney comic books. Instead of having the characters sign autograph books, we had them sign the covers of comic books (Sharpies work nicely on them).

Two advantages of this approach:

1. The kids enjoy reading Disney comics anyway, and they think it's cool to have the characters' autographs on them.

2. The characters, particularly Chip and Dale, really had a good time with this. I had to get the Chip 'N' Dale comics from eBay (about $2.50 each), but they were well worth it. Chip and Dale paged through them and proudly showed them to other people!

GREAT Idea! Being a Character, it's always exciting to see something with you on it! Also, the comic books are big, and easy to sign. Excellent idea!

If you wanna have a character sign stuff like that make sure they have a hard surface to help them sign. Pluto might have a hard time signing that due to the fact he has paws. Like if you wanna have shirts signed (which is real popular) bring a book or a clipboard to help along.

my idea for my next trip to disney is to take 12X12 scrapbook paper of a bunch of different colors and cut them in half and have each character sign a half. (i am going to use half size so its easier to carry around) and then use a piece of cardboard thats bigger than the paper to have a hard surface

on my last trip i brought a 12 X12 scrapbook with me for the characters to sign 1) its very big 2) the pages were all white -not colorful 3) the pages kept getting caught on the rings

The second I read your idea the first thing that popped into my head was "I would love to see Dale react to signing one of his comic books. And then...you mentioned it. LOL. I love Dale when it comes to meet and greets. He has never been a bore to meet.

And great ideas everyone!

When I went to Disney in January, I used a really cheap autograph book (with thin cardboard holding it together and really thin paper) and made sure they didn't sign the back of the pages. Then when I got home and made my scrapbook, I cut out the signatures and placed them around the characters! If you're into scrapbooking, it seems to work well, because my autograph books from when I was younger seemed to disappear??

I got my girls white baseball type hats at the dollar store and had the characters sign them. They wore them all week and were not only a great souvenier but helped with the sun too! They have them in all colors at craft stores like a.c. moore, too. I think they had bucket style hats also.
