Pre-Trip Chapter 14: Seven Beds in Eight Days (July 28-August 6) (soliciting Food and Wine and Fort Wilderness requests)

I'll wrap up my early July TR in the next two weeks but I'm currently mid-trip and will be back at WDW through Sunday to get in some extra Food and Wine + Fort time. I'm writing to solicit requests for Food and Wine items anyone's interested in hearing about. I'll also be at Fort Wilderness so let me know if there's anything there you'd like to hear about (New Trails End? New Crockett's?). No promises I'll get to it but I can try!

Now the details on this trip.

Who: Main Cast. O is now 8, H is 5. Then M and myself.

When and Where: .... yeah

July 26 Home
July 27: Overnight hotel
July 28: Coronado Springs
July 29: Grand Floridian
July 30: Beach Airbnb
July 31: Beach Airbnb
August 1: Legoland Hotel
August 2: Fort Wilderness Cabin
August 3: Fort Wilderness Cabin
August 4: Fort Wilderness Cabin
August 5: Fort Wilderness Cabin

But Why: This started as a quick trip to visit M's friends in Florida. Most are in the Stuart area, so that ended up as beach time. From there I'll walk through how it grew.

One of M's friends found a room at Grand Floridian, so of course she found another room we could use DVC points on so our families could be at the same resort for the night. This added Saturday.

We added Friday when we found an AP discount for Coronado for $177. We'd never been to Coronado and wanted to make the most of it, so we started the drive on Thursday to get to WDE earlier and enjoy the resort. Hello, Thursday night on the road.

The original plan was to return home on Wednesday, but we're DVC members eligible for Moonlight Magic on August 2. We booked a spec room for the registration process and got in.

We eventually realized we'd be leaving on a Thursday just to work Friday, and upon weighing one work day versus another three nights at Fort Wilderness, we went with FW, of course. Add on Thursday, Friday, Saturday.

At some point we made a decision to swap out a beach night for a Legoland Hotel night while we still have APs. We had kicked around the idea of staying at the hotel and it became a "now or never" thing.

Mid-trip I can confirm that this is a very inefficient way to travel for my family because it's constantly unpacking and packing, rinsing and repeating. Tonight (Monday) is the first time I've slept in the same bed consecutive nights since last Tuesday-Wednesday at home.

But it should be a fun memory with mostly Disney but mixed in beach and Legoland hotel and resort time, including the water park.

(For once the time difference was in my favor 😉)
