Chapek going to be "fired"?

I don't want to get involve of saying Bob Chapek is an evil tyrant and needs to get fired, but if the shareholders voting against Bob Chapek is the only way ti make people like Disney again with better future, then fine. Go ahead! Vote him out while you can! He's probably not the right choice anyway. The only question is, if the Board of Directors did fire Bob Chapek as CEO of Disney, who's going to be the new CEO of Disney?
IGER! IGER! IGER! (at least)

The days of a hands off approach like the early days of the Eisner era are long gone.
You're kidding, right? Eisner was anything but hands off, especially when it came to the parks. He thought of himself as the next Walt and he acted like he was. He made a lot of mistakes that, until his untimely death, Frank was able to reign him in on. But, he was involved with every aspect of the parks. Iger wasn't, but it does seem possible that Chapek is as well, but in a different direction. My feeling is that the board is giving him a lot of slack and time to prove himself worthy. Unfortunately, the Disney Cult looks like they will support him no matter what. The largest part of my decision to not returned was the vacuum in every nickel in philosophy of business.

Anyone recall where shareholders tried to oust Eisner in 2004? Successfully could not do it but the Disney Board got the message. Eisner left the company a year later. His investments must have done well. He's now part of the BBC, Billionaire Boys Club.
He bought into Netflix very early and hasn’t sold DIS shares since the early 90s… unlike Robert the first.

Eisner was a micro manager, so yes, you get some stories like how on day one aka his first visit to the parks, he says famously “get Mickey and Minnie in Epcot.”

but in the first few years he was largely hands off in the parks. He felt the parks were popular and therefore ran themselves. So he gave little attention and no credit to park management in mid 1980s. He was more worried about his ability gauge scripts and produce movies with under the Disney umbrella and eventually Touchstone. All the being Walt’s successor came later. He was still in Mr Corporate America mode, as he would have been just as happy taking over Sony or MGM. Disney was slumming it for him, so it took time for it all to warm up a bit.

it wasn’t until late 80s when he began fixating on the parks more, as MGM Studios came closer to opening, leading to his ultimate involvement in DL Paris, etc.

Maybe that's what we need again! Everyone thought Eisner was bad for the parks, but given what we got now as CEO...maybe we didn't have it so bad! Not saying Eisner or Iger were the best (nobody will ever be Walt, Roy or Roy), they had their faults, but being greedy and ruining the joy at just planning a trip to Disney, that was magical! Discovering the new things by watching videos and counting the days. Now we have to plan everything to the day and now with Genie+ and Lightning Lanes, there is no magic left! I would vote to keep PARK RESERVATIONS, just so they can plan staffing for each day as needed. But REPLACE Genie/Lightning Lanes...bring back FP's. FREE FP's for the not so popular rides and a PAID ($5) FP for the popular rides with a guarantee that you will get to ride during your day in the parks sometime!

I would take Eisner back in a heartbeat. I would have preferred him over Iger as well.
