Changing Dinner Reservation

I think once you make it, you're on the hook.
I also think if you can modify it to another day you won't get charged. But I've had issue on the DL site with the modify link being disabled late in the game. So you might have to call to make a modification and hope for the best.

This is how you get out of paying the cancellation fee.
First if you make a reservation and want to cancel but are in the 24 hour window you will get charged.
Unless.....
Disney gives you one “free” cancellation and they do keep track of it.
If you burned up your freebie, just modify it to another day where the restaurant you made the reservation is open, you can go months in advance if you have to. Then just cancel it.
That is how people “game” the system.
There is also a way to do it with fast passes but I’ll keep that one to myself.
