Changing ADR

I have not been to Disney World in over 20 years! And I just found out a week ago that I am going in three weeks!!!

Assuming I can actually get an ADR at this point to anywhere I want to go, will they get nasty if I try to make changes?

Do you just call up and ask what is available or do I have to ask for something specific?

If I cannot get what I want should I try again in a couple of days or do things not change that fast?

Sorry if this is too many questions, but I like to know what to expect in advance. Thanks for the help.

Call with a specific idea of where you want to go. Three weeks out you should still be able to get most of what you want. Have a first choice and a second choice just in case, and if you can be flexible with your dining times that really helps too.

They are totally fine with you changing your ADRs as often as you want. They'll even keep your original reservation till they get the replacement one entered into the computer. But make something ASAP so that you know you'll have somewhere to eat.

I agree with everything Nicole said. In addition, I have seen an ADR available that hadn't been available weeks before when I asked. So, either people changed their ADRs or the restaurant manager opened more tables for ADRs. It doesn't hurt to keep checking.

Thanks!

I really appreciate the help - and so fast. Tomorrow I will call and make arrangements. I was waiting for my husband to give input, but decided that was futile. My fingers are crossed and i am getting hungry already. :slurp:

Tip -

If you do have to call and make changes, be sure to always give the same phone number for every reservation. Then have the CM go over every reservation (even ones you didn't discuss) with you before you hang up to assure everything is for the right date, time, and party size.
