Changes to Downtown Disney traffic flow begin today throughout the holidays

Came in from the other side, and turned left next to Typhoon at the first cycle. Parked in lot Q with no problem. Plenty of space.

I never understand why people drive in on hotel plaza. That's your own poor planning.

Tuesday night, coming from 535, traffic jammed back to the Wyndam. The right lane is blocked off before Buena Vista, and theoretically buses only from Buena Vista to Entrance 1. However, I think I saw more cars than buses in it. Then right lane traffic is at a stand-still leading up to Entrance 2, where 90% of cars try to enter. Entrance 4 was not bad at all, traffic wise (no spaces once you pull in, but a different story).

Valet has been moved to the canopy by Cirque. No crossing guard tonight at the turn by DQ, despite plenty of pedestrians. Seems like a recipe for disaster given the steady flow of cars.

I just got home from a week at the World... and holy crap parking at DTD is a friggin joke! on top of it.. they force you to go into the valet parking at $15 a pop! thank goodness they take a card for payment...

My God, $15?!?

I just valet parked at Downtown Disney Anaheim this past weekend. It was $6. And that includes three free hours for dinner at Catal, with a couple hours inside DCA to see the Cars Land Christmas decorations, ride Mermaid, and see the Viva Navidad show. Then we had a fabulous dinner at Catal and some drinks, wandered back to the valet parking booth to pay our six bucks, gave the valet CM who ran to drive the car over to us a five dollar tip, and we're zipping out onto the Santa Ana Freeway in three minutes with a total parking tab of 11 bucks including tip. For a fabulous evening at both Downtown Disney and Disney California Adventure Park.

And they are charging 15 bucks for valet parking at DTD WDW? That's criminal. Especially considering you aren't valet parking for a fabulous theme park, but just a cheesy shopping mall.

Just wanted to mention parking at DTD with this new traffic pattern was horrendous this past weekend. We went on Saturday night (yeah I know shame on us for wanting some live entertainment on a Saturday!) and it took over 30 minutes to find a parking spot, not including the time it took to get ONTO property. This was coming in from the Typhoon Lagoon side. Drivers were stalking any people walking through the parking lot, waiting to nab a spot. There were backups for those trying to leave DTD also, just a sea of red brake lights. I would not recommend anyone drive to DTD the next few weeks as it can only get worse.

I sure wouldn't. I'd take a bus or preferably a boat, with it being Christmas season and construction (and a Saturday if I did the same thing)

Simple solution: Have the Downtown Disney overflow park at Typhoon Lagoon. Have the TL guests, park at CBR, have the CBR guests park at EPCOT, have the EPCOT overflow park at OKW, have the OKW folk park at PoR, and have the PoR guests without a place to park cruise Daytona Beach.

Incidentally, given that Typhoon Lagoon has been closed the past couple of days due to the low temperatures, parking DtD guests in their lot is not a bad idea at all.

I agree. However, it is better than the originally proposed Cyrillic/hexadecimal system.

I suppose I should be thankful that they dont charge for parking.

I went to Paradisio 37 last week and was able to park right in front of the old PI main entrance. I might have flat out ignored one parking attendant trying to park me towards Marketplace.

Short version, they didnt think parking through very well. I'm not sure if the garages will make things any better.

Christmas Eve, I drove from DHS to Crossroads around 8. No problems my direction, but traffic once again backed up to the Wyndahm trying to turn into Entrance 2. And that's Christmas Eve, when everyone was either home or at MK (seriously, DHS was less crowded than the previous Saturday). Starting tonight, I don't see how that traffic doesn't have an effect on 535. I need a back-up plan to get to Player 1!
