Changes to Downtown Disney traffic flow begin today throughout the holidays

I'm sure easier to understand if I was looking at it, but doesn't this effectively close Lot 1? Can't enter at Lot 1, can you drive back that way now from Lot 2?

Downtown Disney parking lots actually use letters, not numbers. But good point, I think you're right. Lots A & B can only be accessed from Entrance 1. If you can only go in at Entrance 2, you wouldn't be able to get back to A & B and they theoretically would remain empty.

But I think Steve's entry may be incorrect to begin with. It says that only Disney buses will be able to use Entrance 1. Buses have never used Entrance 1 in the past because where would they go? They would not be able to enter there and make it to the Pleasure Island bus loop, which can only be accessed via Entrance 2.

They were using Entrance 1 when we just went this past October. It was exit traffic and Bus entrance only. Pi**ed me off trying to find a spot down there. I finally found a spot right behind World of Disney and parked. They really need to loosen these driving restrictions some. One way all the way down in front of DTD?? That's insane.

Busses will be using entrance 1.

It was frustrating trying to get there at 11am and having to wait 3 cycles of the light for Entrance 2 one because the traffic was so backed up people couldnt go even if the light was green..

At this point Ill be parking at Port Orleans and taking the boat in if I have to go to DTD any later than oh noon..

As for the busses in Entrance One? They cut through and use the 'one direction' road that runs between the lots and stores then cut back across traffic to the pleasure island bus stops- so yes parking lots A &B are only accessible from cutting though lots C/D/Eish behind WoD

They tested this during Tower of Terror 10 Mile Weekend and Wine and Dine weekend. It was a freakin mess.

The usual One Way in front of WoD is now 2 way and cars can go back to Lot A. It just takes an incredible amount of patience and time to do it. The entry to turn iinto Entry 2 was backed up all the way to Crossroads and because of all the upturners not knowing that Entry 1 was closed.

We drove in from Crossroads one night and it took almost 75 minutes to get to entry 2.

The organization of this company is a nightmare at times. Lot A should have been the 1st garage built. Then the additional garage once they could add more parking to the already deficient Marketplace side.

I just got home from a week at the World... and holy crap parking at DTD is a friggin joke! on top of it.. they force you to go into the valet parking at $15 a pop! thank goodness they take a card for payment...

My fears were confirmed today. Stopped by at 11:00 this morning...not exactly peak time...and it was a huge mess. I can only imagine what it's like on a Friday or Saturday night. Yikes. The poor cast didn't even seem sure of the traffic flow.

Our strategy is to come in from the west (epcot center Dr) and just go behind cirque off the bat and not try for anything better. That worked well last Saturday evening (arriving around 7). Arriving any later would have been worse.

Also leaving to the west also to epcot center Dr to ease the pain.

Drove along Vista and then out Hotel Plaza Blvd (leaving Downtown Disney) last night (Friday 13th) 7pm...cars were backed up on Hotel Plaza Blvd all the way to 535. Lot 1 is exit only during peak time, so it is causing major backups. I just hope they figure out a different way because this way will not work over the 2 weeks of Christmas.

I'm at the point it's easier to go to MouseGear than World of Disney. Haven't been to Raglan in like a month.
That's exactly what I did the other night. I needed to pick up something as a Christmas gift that any of the large stores on property would have. Because it was a MVMCP night, the Emporium was out of the question so it came down to World of Disney or MouseGear, easy decision based on the parking situation alone.

Talked into going this morning (shopping with a friend's 40% discount can make a compelling argument). It truly is a cluster, obvious driveways were not designed for they are trying to do. Cones and orange vests everywhere, because the system is so counter-intuitive. Starting Friday, this is going to be a nightmare--wish they would open up that 535 bypass already, bound to be a spillover effect on that already overloaded road.

Until around noon, crowds in stores did not match number of cars in lots. I still say the cheaper solution would have been free (or at least cheap) parking at the parks.
