Very well said. You summed it up well. We older Epcot fans will have memories that current first-timers will never know or experience. Of course, twenty years from now, they will probably be reminising about the good old days of 2003 and how they really miss the classic rides like Mission Space and Test Track, and how wonderful Epcot used to be....Will the circle be unbroken....

As long as SSE is not gone I think it will retain a little something from the 80's, BUT if its gone I think that Epcot will be taking a turn for the worse but thats just my opinion....:)

There has been some talk of changing SSE to a thrill ride. I think some changes would be ok, and even a complete makeover might be justified, but I really feel it should remain a slow, educational ride, not a thrill ride.

I know alot of folks are worried that Epcot will become just a thrill ride park. But consider this: the next E-ride there will be Soarin', which as far as I can tell is not a thrill ride. Yes, you're sitting above a huge screen but I've heard there's very little motion involved. It seems to be much more show than thrill. And from what I hear this is the premier attraction at DCA. So lets not forget that Disney still knows how to build rides that are just thrill based.

Although I have not been to DCA myself, we have friends who's daughter works there and they have been twice. They say it is great and Soaring over California is wonderful. The new Soaring, either Soaring over FL, or Soaring over wherever, (maybe the US, or the Earth) should be a wonderful addition to Epcot. From what I have read, it is going to be between The Land, and Imagination. That seems like a good location. Looking forward to it!

*just a random WOM/TT question/remark

though i loved much of the late 80's epcot.. i'll admit i equally LOVE m:s and TT...... -however- TT confuses me. again, though i -love- this ride.. WOM made sense, TT does not. heres my reasoning; we have SE; the history/future of communication.... the living seas; a pavillion covering everything there is to know about the seas... same goes for the land..... then imagination..... same for UOE [does a decent job] then WOL [not to great but still serves the same purpose..] then the new M:S -covering everything about mans history/future, of space exploration.. etc. [very well done; fits in perfectly with the rest of epcot]

anyway you see where im goin with those.... now after seein all these broad topics covered; the land, the seas, imagination, the body, energy, space exploration... and the WOM fit in great; the history of transportation -however- its new version TT.. is about how GM tests their cars.

im sorry but is that not the most like random idea for a pavillion..? -it just doesnt fit in if you ask me.. :veryconfu

Well, the whole point of Test Track was to give Epcot a thrill ride. With GM as sponser, they came up with something that would tie in GM with a ride, and I think they did pretty good. I prefer World of Motion, but the need for a thrill ride won out. Just hope they don't turn SE into a thrill ride.
