Trip Report Change of Plans for Thanksgiving...Let's Just Spend the Entire Time in Disney!

Good afternoon everyone, and thank you in advance for checking in and following along with our next Disney adventure. During the summer, Crystal and I starting planning with Maddy and Brayden to visit both of them at their schools (Maddy at the University of South Carolina, Brayden at Florida State) during Thanksgiving with a few days at Disney between stops. Crystal and I had planned to drive from the Lehigh Valley starting after school today and make our way to Columbia by 2 am tomorrow. We would then stay for the Wofford- South Carolina football game then drive to Disney on Sunday since USC is off for Thanksgiving after today. Brayden has classes Monday through Friday next week, so he would bus it Wednesday afternoon to meet us. We would then leave Disney on Friday and drive to Tallahassee for the FSU-UF game on Saturday.

Well, as the season went on, USC football tickets went up as the team is having a great season. For some reason, FSU tickets started high (they were preseason top 10, so that I get) and have stayed high even though they are awful! We had a great hotel in Columbia at a very reasonable rate, but we had no luck in Tallahassee even though they are 1-9. Plus, I wasn't really looking forward to driving so much when we only had about 10 days.

Crystal and I started talking and we decided to talk to the kids about flying down and just meeting at Disney. We had to work a few things out, like Brayden's classes and not going to the games (which has all been worked out), but we are now set to leave tomorrow and all meet up in Disney!

Crystal and I leave from Philly at 5:40 am, Maddy leaves Columbia at 5:10, and Brayden leaves Tallahassee at 9. We are staying at Riverside for only the second time. We have all of our park and dining reservations and LL's selected. The plan is to start at Epcot for the final day of Food and Wine.

The trip just happens to coincide with our 25th Anniversary which was November 20.

We have a few new things planned this trip that we are excited for, but we are just looking forward to being together for the next week.

We walked from the Grand Floridian to Magic Kingdom then took the Train for a full loop around

Then walked to Liberty Square and checked in for dinner.

It’s definitely hotter and more humid today. I love it. It’s 41 and there was heavy rain back at home. Glad I’m here where it’s sunny and warm

Good morning. Just a quick update on our night and early morning. Crystal, Maddy, and I spent several hours at the hospital ER last night. Full disclosure, all is better today. Maddy was diagnosed with an illness about a year ago, and we are still trying to get things under control. She had a flare up over the last few days and it really hit her hard yesterday, so we felt it best to have her checked before she heads back to school Monday. So a few bottles of IV fluid and steroids and we will see how she feels today.

Brayden is getting picked up by a friend this afternoon and will head back to FSU. I'm not sure he's looking forward to the game as much as the last tailgate of his senior year 🤣

Plans for the rest of us is TBD.

Im currently here waiting for Maddy's scripts to be filled at CVS.

Brayden just left with his friend to drive back to FSU. Maddy is going to relax today. Crystal and I may head to Animal Kingdom then Magic Kingdom. Or maybe Epcot. Not sure what we will do, but we will eat first.

It was supposed to be much cooler today with showers and thunderstorms, but it’s like a swamp all day so far. That’s not a complaint either 👍

There was a brief shower while I was getting Maddy’s meds, but that was it

I'm sorry for Maddy and the family as to spending time in the ER
It sounds like she's getting better and I hope you all have a continued great time together.
I've really enjoyed reading this report for the way it brings out your family's happiness at being together.
