Chances of GTY rate in April

DH and I were planning to go to WDW for a long weekend in April for our anniversary. Room was booked using our DVC points, airfare bought and then I do it....check the Disney cruise line site to see what cruises they offer in April. Low and behold they have one on the Magic (never been on) for the same exact time we were planning to go to WDW. Okay, WDW a week before Easter (packed crowds) or Disney cruise. Disney cruise wins out. What are the odds of Disney offering the GTY rate. There seems to be plenty of rooms left, even concierge, so I didn't know if I should just book it or wait a while and see what happens. Any suggestions???

I would have said no way for that time frame, but lately the GTY rates are more and more frequent. Especially if there are a lot of rooms.

If you're got a back up plan, wait a little while. See if the rooms start to disappear. If they start disappearing, book it! Otherwise keep waiting.

Thanks DisneyFalcon. I think I will wait a while and see what happens, I have some time. I was quite surprised there were that many rooms left especially at Easter time.

Yes, if you were talking Dream or Fantasy I'd say the odds were worse, but there's an even better chance for the Magic!
