CEO & Pixar Pals Countdown

Take it for what it is but word going around with some folks at WDW is that on Bob Iger's recent trip to WDW, he spent some time in the parks and was none too pleased with the "new" Pixar parade. For lack of a better word, apparently he was pretty p*ssed. Evidently, there is a lot of complaining to Guest Relations about this change and Bob Iger happens to be in agreement. Look for some changes to be made.

Good news if true.

Yeah..not sure if true or not. It's just what you hear around WDW when you speak of PixarPals. Needless to say though, nobody likes it.

I trust Bob Iger. He's been making good decisions for the company. Hopefully this is one little step closer to a TDO revolution.

We can only hope.

It's great to hear that Bob Iger and Tom Staggs both don't like the parade if these reports are true. However, I will be disapointed if they don't take more action than adding Mr. Potato Head and Smitty from Monsters Inc. What they should do is just make them bring back Block Party Bash...I know in my dreams, but it's not like they got rid of all the floats, costumes, and props. They are all in the new parade and I'm sure the props that aren't being used are just sitting in some plastic storage bins backstage.

Did Bob see it too.....I heard it was Tom Staggs who was very displeased to put it mildly? Either way, I'm glad someone from HQ was able to see the inferior product that TDO is allowing to be peddled to the WDW masses. (I actually fired off a respectful BUT truthful email to Bob after I saw the debut of the Countdown to (NO) Fun Parade).

I wish they did, but people please just keep complaining to Guest Relations or send emails so they'll do something to improve this parade or replace it with a better one or bring back an old one that was perfectly fine...or just so they'll do something to improve it.

The best thing that people can do is to continue to complain to Guest Relations about this parade if you're truly unhappy about it. One would hope though, with the CEO unhappy with something that it would get fixed. I don't think BBB is necessarily the best solution...they can do a new parade..with stops and a party type atmosphere while using all of the Pixar characters. We ALL know Disney is capable of so much more..its not that they don't have the people in there to make this happen, they absolutely do. I just think this is one situation where they thought they could get away with something b/c they don't get as many repeat crowds as DLR and it has backfired..A LOT>

While ultimately a brand new parade would be amazing if they can't do that bring back the parade that worked absolutely fine, to those who didn't like it, it sure was a lot better than Countdown to Fail. Block Party Bash was still young for a WDW parade and it's life was ended early yet it was their best entertainment offering parade wise.

That is true...BBB was better than PPCtF...You could bring back elements of BBB with ALL of the Pixar charcters in the current parade. What is disappointing though..its not even like they tried to create new music with the parade or anything. It's just absurd to me. It's an entertainment company with a HUUUUGEE catalog of awesome music and the ability to create more. They could even use some beefed up versions of Pixar tunes.

I'm just wondering if Meg Crofton's seen the parade. Of course if she did I'm sure she thought it was just fine since it looked cheap and that's what she likes.

She and many other execs thought it was a total waste of time and funds, as it had people standing there watching things instead of going through gift shops or eating at resturants.

So has anyone on the inside heard any rumblings as tgo what's happening with the parade what with the disapproval of Bob Iger and Tom Staggs?

So who approved it then?
It was probably something along the lines of this:

Ent Manager "Were still over budget this year what with Fant!, AI experience, the new Disney channel rocks, and BPB. We already cut Fant! to fund AIE and well, we don't want to cut our new Disney Channel rocks show so I think we can save money by cutting out all the high energy performers, acrobats, and equity performers from BPB and bring in a new parade."

VP of DHS: "great! your budget is $5 for the new parade. Is that enough?"

Ent Producers and show directors: "Yeah, well just reuse everything, I think we have some really old paint behind Fant! that we can use to paint the block floats, I guess we can keep the BPB costumes and props. No one will even notice and for music we can use the Pixar Play Parade music and just edit out the 'Play! Play! It's the Play Parade!' lyric line and insert the new parade name so no one will know."

Ent Manager: "Hmmmm, that music edit will put us $1 over budget."

Ent Producers and show directors: "Thats okay! We will just take the Countdown to Fun lyric and use that for the parade title. No one will notice that the music is blatantly calling the parade the Play Parade."

VP of DHS: "excellent! I approve of these changes!"

Ent Managers, Producers and show directors: "Great! That saves us from having to have Imagineering or creative entertainment develop a new parade!"

Bob Iger, Meg Crofton, and Tom Staggs: "DHS has a new parade?"
