Celebrity Headshots at Mama Melrose's

Mama Melrose was was one of the few edible food options at HS. It was not great - far from it, but the price to food quality offering was approaching acceptable.

They did ruin a couple of their classic dishes like Mama's Pasta (simple spaghetti with a tomato/garlic sauce) and instead made some overly cheesy goo.

The chicken quality went downhill as well. I did like the bread with olive oil and herbs. Their front host staff was awful but many servers were quite nice. Desserts sucked. I guess it wasn't all that great, but certainly better than Brown Derby, Sci-Fi, 50s Prime, Commissary, Pizza Planet, or Hollywood and Vine. My God, all of those places suck. They used to have decent fried chicken at 50s, but that is not longer good and the sides are shocking.

Dining options at HS are atrocious.

I'd rather eat at Mama Melrose than say, Be Our Guest.

Brown derby, 50s primetime, rodeo roundup, docking bay 7, and commissary are far better

I ate there many moons ago when it first opened. Always thought would get back and even cancelled a few reservations z we just were never in the mood for Italian when there. Sci Fi is not a good value but the atmosphere is fun. I always found Prime Time to be overrated. I used to enjoy Brown Derby but last time we were there I had maybe the worst server of any restaurant I was ever at, and the cost vs quality is really hard to find

Since Mama Melrose's will be gone in a few months, I was thinking about all of the celebrity headshots hanging in the lobby. It made me wonder, has anyone made and posted a list of which celebrities are hanging in the restaurant?

Also it would be cool if Sid Cahuenga's was still around as they could sell the pictures there. A good number would be scooped up immediately!

I guess some of them could end up in the Property Control or Cast Connections stores, or possibly even the Lakeland Antique Mall or Forever Vintage & Surplus.
Not exactly sure how they would deal with stuff like that vs. old resort furniture, etc.

When I worked at our local mall Disney Store years ago, any product, etc. that we had to get rid of had to be taken to the combo crusher/dumpster out back and destroyed. The crushing had to be witnessed by at least 1 regular CM and 1 Manager.
As examples, we once got these themed, shaped princess mugs with lids and straws, that the paint kept peeling off of. About a week later, we were instructed by corporate to destroy them all.
Another time we got themed kids beach chairs, with attached umbrellas, that were poorly made and the metal parts kept pinching kids. Again, all crushed about a week after we put them onstage.
All broken product was also collected backstage and destroyed once a week.
And, theoretically, all the big fig scenes above the 7’ line in that old store would have been destroyed after it closed permanently. But, who really knows…?! 🤔 🤷‍♂️

The only thing I know for sure that made it out of that store without being destroyed was part of an old fixture.
The SM and myself were dismantling a fixture we no longer needed, that displayed park passes and gift cards. It had a cool castle design on top that I always liked, and the SM knew it. As soon as we slipped it off the top, she told me to quickly take it to my car and not to say a word to anyone, which I promptly did. We both witnessed the crushing of the rest…!!!!! :cautious::cool:😁:hilarious:;)
I actually don’t have it anymore, as I gave it to oldest DD while she was expecting our first granddaughter. She and SonIL ended up using it in both granddaughters nurseries…!!! :)
