Hey Gang, my wife's birthday is the same day as our debarkation day. We will obviously be celebrating during the cruise. I was thinking about surprising her with the Birthday Package when we board. Has anyone done this? is it nice? Worth it? Etc? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

Never done a celebration. Disney's offerings are limited. There's an offsite business that can do custom baskets/arrangements and have them put in your room. I'd have to look up the name & contact info. I think its like Baskets by Shirley or something like that. I'll look it up if you're interested. ;)

I know they do a minor decoration of the room and a magnet on the door. It's just something little I wanted to do for the missus.

We purchased the celebration package with the room decoration and door magnet. It was a very nice touch, the room was decorated when we arrived. It was a banner, a door magnet, a hanging birthday decoration, and a card signed by the characters. My wife, who was the birthday girl, really liked it. I surprised her with it.

That is what I was wanting to know. Thanks.

I also did it for my wife in 2011 for our Alaska sailing. Her birthday was our embarkation day. It was some decorations and a small cake. The cake was terrible, to be honest, compared to the desserts that we could get at any restaurant onboard. But the decorations with characters on them were very cute. I probably wouldn't do it again, just because it was a silly splurge; but she did think it was fun to have it in the room for her birthday.

I may even have pictures somewhere. . .

embarkation, debarkation? If first night, could be fun. Kinda a bummer if last day.
I was thinking about just the decorations and no cake. We can have all the dessert we want when we dine. It is a bummer that her birthday is debarkation day, but a cruise based near your birthday is better than no cruise at all.

Update. The bed runner, magnet, card, and banner were all in place when we got to our room. It was worth the surprise for the wife.

I was thinking of this as our anniversary is today and we leave Sunday so I am glad your wife enjoyed it. did you order it online or over the phone?

I ordered it via phone. They were very helpful. At the end of our cruise, our stateroom host had us sign a small receipt so his bosses knew it was done. I would have been miffed if we boarded and it wasn't set up.

I see they want a CC so I assume you can not charge to the room o_O

I don't know about that. I think it is becuase you are ordering it prior to becoming a guest on the ship and don't have an account yet.
