Pre-Trip CELEBRATING FLORIDA (APRIL TRIP)

Ok sooo this is my first pre-trip/trip report and I'm excited to share :)

Before I share plans and people think I'm crazy for only visiting 2 parks during my stay I would like to share that I'M MOVING TO ORLANDO!!!! Just so happens my DH has a job opportunity there and we have close friends there so why would we not move closer to the world if given that chance :) As soon as I get my condo and florida ID I will get an AP and start weekly visits :)

Side note: I was just there in September (somehow September feels both like yesterday and a lifetime ago lol) This trip is specifically to CELEBRATE :D moving to FL and also because some parts of me feels like this would be my last chance for a Disney vacation to actually feel like a vacation, once I'm living there and settled in WDW will be the "norm" .. So what better way to spend my first week living in FL than in Disney;)

WHO?: Me (Jess) and my DH (Ace)
MY DATES: 4/4 - 4/8 (DISNEY) 4/9- 4/10 (Daytona Beach)

Side note: My DH thinks were staying @ Coronado Springs but as a surprise/moving gift to him I upgraded to AKL (his dream resort) behind his back, so far so good as far as keeping it a secret.

4/4 DAY 1: Arrive to WDW @ about 10am (I plan to video tape his AKL reaction) .. Get to AKL & explore/ hang by the pool .. We are going to sit @ the lounge near Sanna and order drinks & bread service for lunch. I also want to check out the 4pm Boma/jiko tour. We have a 6:30pm ADR @ Sanna. After that we'll make our way to the contemporary to view wishes & then over to Trader Sams for drinks.

4/5 DAY 2: Animal Kingdom day
FP1 - 10:25-11:25 Kilimanjaro Safari
12pm ADR @ Yak and Yeti (first time eating here and excitied for it)
FP2 - 1:30-2:30 DINO (DH's fave)
FP3 - 2:30-2:50 FINDING NEMO
Side note: DH doesn't like large drops so I will hop on the single riders line @ Everest as many times as possible throughout the day.
Side note 2: I'm leaving the evening "open" in crazy hopes ROL will be started
QS dinner @ the resort.

4/6 Day 3: MK day
8:50am breakfast @ BOG
FP1- 10-11 Haunted Mansion
FP2- 12:30-1:30 Pirates
2:05 ADR @ Kona café for lunch
Back to Resort for afternoon break and pool time
No rush back to MK will most likely head back there @6/7pm
FP3 - 8:50-9:50 Seven dwarfs
Cinnamon Roll from gastons tavern for dinner!!
EMH till 1am
Side note: I will go on Space and Splash by myself during EMH (Hubby would have done Thunder but its closed for refurb :arghh:)

4/7 Day 4: This day I got creative with knowing there are tons of things to do @ WDW without actually heading to a park. I LOVE KONA COFFE, so first I will make my way over to POLY and get some coffee from the bar by Kona. Then we are going to rent sea raycers from one of the monorail resorts and explore over there. We'll then get a QS lunch @ DS and take the boat over to Old Key west to rent the Double bike. We have a 7pm ADR @ cape may and then we'll visit the Boardwalk and go to Jelly rolls for the night life :)

4/8 Day 5: CHECKING OUT IS THE WORST FEELING! LOL But we are going to enjoy a long last day in WDW .. 10:45 ADR @ Boma for breakfast (excited for this..I've only had dinner here) We'll hang by the pool for a little while and than off to resort hopping for the day (my first time legit resort hopping & I plan to hit every single one lol) .. Than my Floridian friends are meeting us at OHANA for an 8:20 ADR (PERFECT END IF YOU ASK ME)
Than off to Daytona for a weekend on the beach :)

I plan to review and post pic of all meals & snacks during our trip

@figmentfan423 When I opened the box my DH was soooo excited and I had to be so mean to him because I was drawing a blank on if it was gonna say animal kingdom lodge anywhere so I couldn't let him look at it first ... Do you know off hand if I should be expecting any more disney mail that could possibly mention the resort? I'm REALLY trying to keep this a secret until we get there lol
Do you have your ME tags yet? I'd keep an eye on the mail you never know what they'll send.

Welcome to Florida! Tip: Floridians try not to visit places like WDW between July and September. We go to the beach instead so we can stay relatively cool from those sea breezes. BTW, the best beaches in Florida are in the Panhandle - beautiful aqua water and white powdered sand.

Lol! I don't plan on seeing WDW anytime between June till MNSSHP starts. Since the AP expires a year after purchase I'm thinking I should wait to buy it till after the summer? I'm excited to see Daytona beach :)

After summer. Daytona Beach is nice, but St. George Island, Destin and other Panhandle beaches are much nicer. Plus, nothing beats sitting on the back deck of the Blue Parrot on St. George Island sipping a cold one while eating a plate of Gulf shrimp and grouper. While you watch the wind surfers. Great times.

Nothings better on a beautiful clear day than being down at the Coast as we say here in the Panhandle, drinking a brew or pitcher of margaritas and eating some excellent fresh Gulf seafood. Jimmy Buffet had it right, for sure. ;)

It's so exciting that you will upgrading to AKL!!! We stayed there in September last year and I adored it. What a wonderful resort! I can't wait to hear how your hubby reacts when you tell him! We will be arriving in Disney on 4/8, so we will just miss you!

Thank you! I'm going to video tape his reaction.. my DH was born in South Africa so it's super special for him :) Animal Kingdom and meeting all the cast members from Africa really makes him happy and holds a special place in his heart :inlove:

I would not have been able to afford this if I was staying an entire week and wanted more park time... I want to say that AKL will probably be a "once in a lifetime thing" but that's also what I said about my first WDW trip as an adult LOL (yeah right)! They sure do have a way of pulling you back in!

Are you going to upgrade your tickets to APs while there?

No because right now I still have my NY ID... I haven't found an official place there yet so I'm waiting for my permanent home before I do an address change... but I know I will deff be going for night of joy and MNSSHP so I'll purchase in late August / early September :)

I know what you mean! We went in September ( basically my first time as an adult.. I went 10 years ago when I was 18) and I didn't think I'd be back. Six months later, and we're going back!! :)
