Eh! Whit a Walt day??? When & where???They already celebrate Walt Disney Day at the parks. Nothing formal with a parade or special show, but they have released some commemorative items every year for it as long as I can remember. I know there is generally a limited edition pin that is released and commemorates the day. I have 6-7 of them in my collection.
Good Morning Disneyaerians. You know I've just read the replies to my thread about what holiday meal you like to celebrate at WDW,and I got thinking. I would love to see a Walt day at Disney. And I would make it December 15th,the day he passed.A huge celebration at MK with a special parade. Now I know that Christmas is in full swing but just this one off event. It would start in MK with a morning parade, then some sort of film show at HS ( yes I know about the existing one ) and to end the day.A special illuminations show at Epcot with a choir singing lots of Disney classic songs. What would you do to celebrate Walt day at WDW on December 15th.?
Ya know Disney, they couldn't help themselves. Do you have any idea how much money I forked over forI hope they don't use his name to make money, I would draw the line at pins and cupcakes.
No Problem! Can the Parade have all the old characters of his day, Cinderella, Snow, Mickey, Minnie and their friends, some Chipmunks and the ducks with the nephews? And play and sing zipadedoda?
Hey! Can't take it with you.My bill for 5 visits (14 nights each trip ) is way over my head, but you want to know something.I don't mind spending that one cent more.Ya know Disney, they couldn't help themselves. Do you have any idea how much money I forked over for
One More Day Celebration. Lordie.
And while my kids were growing up we did at least one 14-16 day trip a year and I was happy to spend the money too. Never found a better place for a family to have fun especially with kids 5 years apart in age.Hey! Something for everyone.
And then college hit. Disney was a better bang for the buck. Every time I hear a professor cancels a class I calculate in my head how much money should be credited back to my kids account, sometimes I now feel like that also when too many attractions are down at once in the Parks, credit my account please. I'm old enough to have had ticket booklets when I was a small child. If the attraction was down, Disney lost the revenue for that attraction. Incentive to keep parks pristine, Walt had something there with ticket books.
Walt Disney World already strains its connection to Walt Disney and his Florida Project. Anybody else remember the ads and merchandise with Cinderella Castle stitched in to replace Sleeping Beauty Castle? Walt Disney World should celebrate its own unique identity instead of pretending to be Disneyland.
