Wow, thank you. I will check out the video. It looks too scary for me since I am a chicken, LOL.The video will show you.
Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringott’s at Universal Studios Florida has a tilt track.
The first tilt track coaster opened in 2002 in Taiwan and the technology Vekoma developed for it (locking the coaster and moving the track) lead directly to Expedition Everest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Wow,that sounds a little scary to me. Thank you for explainingPart of that track is on a cantilever.
A cantilever is a rigid structural element that extends horizontally and is unsupported at one end. Typically it extends from a flat vertical surface such as a wall, to which it must be firmly attached. Like other structural elements, a cantilever can be formed as a beam, plate, truss, or slab.
Basically part of the track is missing, the only thing connecting is a section that tilts to join back up with the track.
Yeah that’s too scary for me. Shoot - we’d be looking straight down then release and boom! No thanks.Wow,that sounds a little scary to me. Thank you for explaining![]()
It's actually only happened 4 times. It's these clickbait sites that make things worse. It keeps getting stuck, leaving riders stranded.

Siren's Curse at Cedar Point breaks down again, leaving riders stranded
Thrill seekers got a bit more than they bargained for this weekend at Cedar Point.www.wlwt.com
I realize many new rides and attractions have their share of issues after opening (Here's looking at you, ROTR), but this sounds absolutely terrifying.
“only” 4 times ?? In a month? Heck no and the tide is a serious safety issue. It's actually only happened 4 times. It's these clickbait sites that make things worse.
Is Expedition Everest a serious safety issue? Because it uses the same type of technology that makes this ride work.“only” 4 times ?? In a month? Heck no and the tide is a serious safety issue.
But didn't it just open several weeks ago? It's actually only happened 4 times. It's these clickbait sites that make things worse.
It opened end of June. Yes it happening a bit too often but you also have to remember this is the first Tilt coaster built since 2002. Like every new coaster it will have downtime and evacuations. But didn't it just open several weeks ago?
And that wasn't a clickbait site, it was Cincinnati news. Even local to CP Cleveland news reporting it is stranding people too often after just debuting.
Evacuations aren’t all equal. I think I’d rather be evacuated from TBA lol.It opened end of June. Yes it happening a bit too often but you also have to remember this is the first Tilt coaster built since 2002. Like every new coaster it will have downtime and evacuations.
Since it's opened at the end of June, it's run 7000 cycles. Basically 1% of the time evacuations happen. People making a bigger deal out of it then they should
While it was a Cincinnati News site that posted the story as well as a Cleveland News site, they are no better than the clickbait sites. My issue is that all these stories do is push the narrative to the general public that parks aren't safe.
I know they aren't equal. The ride is still very safe.Evacuations aren’t all equal. I think I’d rather be evacuated from TBA lol.
Sure. But I saw video of an evacuation from that coaster.I know they aren't equal. The ride is still very safe.
Which is really no different than the evacuation from any other coaster with a lift hill. If anything, it might be a bit easier if you’re getting out on to a level platform and not directly onto stairs.Sure. But I saw video of an evacuation from that coaster.![]()
The thing is evacuations have always happened at parks. People never made a big deal about them. Now with all these news sites and social media putting these stories out more than they used, it's becoming a thing to put fear into people.Sure. But I saw video of an evacuation from that coaster.![]()
I didn’t say it wasn’t. I was just responding to the news that it was stranding people too often. I guess you’re always taking your chances of a hair-raising evacuation on those coasters.Which is really no different than the evacuation from any other coaster with a lift hill. If anything, it might be a bit easier if you’re getting out on to a level platform and not directly onto stairs.
