Cbr

I have read on here.. and on other sites mixed reviews about the CBR. Can someone please tell me is it worth staying here... I have read that some of the rooms are dirty, or smelled.. the fridge not working etc.
Please help, nervous about staying here in Sept

I stayed there and loved it. My room was very clean and well maintained. Basically, every hotel will have a bad review here and there. No resort is perfect!!! Maybe they had a lazy cleaning lady one day, who knows. I loved CBR. And my fridge worked. We kept milk in it for morning cereal in the room.

Worth it? For sure. I`m staying for my 4th time in July.

The rooms are much more than average, the landscaping beautiful and the theming top-notch. As much as I`d like to try PO we keep coming back to the CBR.

It is a very big resort - though dosn`t feel it - and so rolling refurbs are the norm. Perhaps the bad review was from a room soon to be refurbed?

An example; last October we found a power socket loose under the table. We rang the appropiate number, and an electrician was at the door within 20 minutes. Kid you not.

I have stayed there 3 times the latest being in 05 and it was always clean. Never had a problem.

I just booked this November there too.

My whole family love CBR. We've stayed twice and it's definitely worth it!. It is clearly a step above the value resorts and the rooms are bigger. Everytime my family has stayed our room's were very clean ....oh yea and we loved the food court !

Carribean Beach Resort is wonderful. I had a very positive experience staying there. The rooms were great and the refrigerator worked fine. You'll always see some kind of bad review on a hotel, no matter what hotel it is. But I wouldn't worry about this one :)

FYI...The pool at the CBR is scheduled to be closed until mid-september.

I have stayed there 4 times in the past, with the last time staying there in 2005, and have had really nice experiances. It can be a bit of a walk to the central Food/Pool area from the rooms on the outskirts of the resorts. All and All I would give it a go.

CBR is a beautiful resort, but it is very spread out. If you opt to stay there I would definitely request a preferred room location. While CS is even bigger then CBR, I actually like that resort better... In my opinion, the pool and the Food court (Pepper Market) is much better then CBR.

I'm staying there the first week of June. I refuse to let those bad reviews I read ruin my trip before it even starts!

Like someone else said, every hotel won't have 100% reviews!

The fact the some people have changed their hotel because of the things they read, thats crazy to me. Try finding a hotel with no bad reviews whatsoever...

Caribbean Beach Resort here I come :sohappy:

I was booked in for a week this July, but decided to move to Port Orleans Riverside because of the main pool closure. CBR's quiet pools will be anything but until the main pool re-opens in September!

Stayed there two years ago and really liked it - actually liked it better than Coronnado Springs. We had a great room, 1st floor on a corner overlooking the quiet pool in Jamaica, only a 2-minute walk to the bus and a 5-minute walk to the food court. Housekeeping was great - everything was clean and shiny. I wouldn't be afraid to stay there again.

I love CBR!! It's actually the first resort I ever stayed at. I love the overall theme...especially in the food court. The only gripe I could have about CBR is the bus loop. After staying at a resort like French Quarter with only one stop the wait for buses is almost unbearable.

As so many have stated, you have no worries. It is one of my favorite resorts. I think most of the folks that complain ended up staying too far out and didn't like the walk. Just request your building ahead of time. Other than the pool currently being closed, it's great.

At CBR, "preferred location" means a room in one of the 6 buildings closest to Old Port Royale, the complex that has the main pool, food court, restaurant, shops, etc.

If you want preferred location, you must RESERVE AND PAY EXTRA for it. You can't merely request it. Well, you can request it, but everyone who actuallt reserved and paid for it is in line ahead of you, and even if there are still rooms available, they may not be inclined to give a free upgrade.
