CBR vs CS?

We're trying to plan a trip for December this year. We're also trying to line it up with what we believe will be Free Dining dates. So, I know that POFQ won't be available and going by last year's offerings, neither will PORS. That leaves us with these 2 resorts. I can't say that I care for the vast size of CSR, but what do you guys think?

I think we're going to go with CBR, but we're still checking out all of the reviews on TripAdvisor.

We are leaning toward CSR but like you we are waiting on free dining so we have a few months to decide

Personally, I feel that Coronado Springs is on an entirely different level than Caribbean Beach, almost like a "Moderate Plus." The rooms are more richly detailed (for one, they feature an actual door between the bedroom and the vanity, rather than a curtain) and the resort itself is newer and better kept up. There are tons of fun Three Caballeros references throughout the resort, and the walk around the lake is SUPER lovely and relaxing. My husband and I also really like eating at the Pepper Market. We've admittedly not stayed at Caribbean Beach, but we've walked the resort and were not impressed. The exteriors of the buildings seemed faded, landscaping and theming were not nearly as enjoyable as the other moderates, and half of the food court was closed mid-afternoon.

For the record, Riverside is my absolute favourite moderate resort (possibly my favourite of ALL the resorts), but I wouldn't be the least bit disappointed in another stay at Coronado. Highly recommended!

Draybook--Keep in mind that Coronado Springs is one of the biggest convention centers on the east coast. It can get quite busy with business groups, day and night. I've been there when the restaurants, bars, and swimming pools were packed with conventioneers, while the parks themselves had only average crowds.

I love CSR. Fewer internal bus stops, short rides to the parks and a few more amenities. Its a bit smaller too

CSR is more compact feeling than CBR. Lots more! I agree with Demeter Tess, CSR has a Deluxe Lite feel to it. Probably in part because it is the only moderate with a fitness center. And due to having conventions (which I have never had a problem with during my 5 stays at CSR) it has better public areas than CBR. Again, they feel more upscale.

Having stayed at both resorts for me it wouldn't even be a tough choice. It wouldn't be much of a choice at atll. CSR all the way. CBR is not as nice.

I have stayed at both more than once and prefer CSR. As others have said, fewer bus stops is a plus. Also, I find that the conventioneers don't go to the parks first thing in the morning which means the bus stops are less crowded. The pool at CSR is large and beautiful. IMHO one of the best on property. It is also worth mentioning that the bus stops for CSR are closer to the park entrances which means a shorter walk with tired feet at the end of the day.

We are staying at CSR in early December for the first time and I can't wait! That would be cool to bump into another member of this site! I'm sure it's unlikely though lol.

We have stayed at CSR a long time ago, and the size of it seemed extreme to us back then. Never had a problem with conventioneers. The buses were great but we didn't like how the Pepper Market was run then. I guess now it is run more efficiently and in line with other QS places in other resorts. The rooms seemed larger and brighter than the other mods, including POR.
We always stay at POR, and a friend stayed at CBR for their first visit and LOVED it! She tried POR the last time and was underwhelmed and stated she wished she had just gone back to CBR, so, the moral of this story. ta da: to each their own. Any resort at Disney is a winner for me!

We have always stayed at Pop but this year we wanted to make the jump to mods. Last year my youngest and I ended with the stomach virus and spent most of the trip in the hotel room so I am looking forward to bigger rooms and queen beds!
I like that CSR is smaller because with two kids walking distance and bus waits are a huge deciding factor for us. I also use to be an archaeologist before I was a mommy so I really like the theme of CSR. The only reason I am swayed by CBR is the pirate theming. I know my boys 2 and 8 would love it.
The conventioners don't bother me but I would like for the kids to still have that Disney feeling since it is so different from Pop.

We have stayed at both, and much prefer CSR. CBR was too large, and the food court area was always lacking seating, it's poorly designed and the pool area is very closed off. The restaurant on site is also lacklustre. CSR we love. May be returning this fall. Also, if possible, at CSR try to stay near bus stop 4. You get picked up first and dropped off first.

I've met one guy from here a couple of trips ago. I was live posting in the queue for Buzz and a guy asked if I was Draybook. I said yeah and he said he was just reading what I had posted. I think his name was Chris and he was there with his family. Was pretty neat.

I've been to both a few times and I prefer CSR.

The only issue I've had with business groups was at check in on my last trip, when we happened to arrive after a large group attending the pharmaceutical conference, it overwhelmed the front desk staff.
