CBR & Pirate Rooms

Hello was looking for some positive info on CBR and wondering if anyone has stayed in the pirate themed rooms. This is a new resort for us and have read of some pretty bad experiences here, but also some good too.

We've booked a trip for the first week of December :xmas: and reserved a pirate themed room. It looks fantastic to me. I'm aware of the distance from Trinidad South to the food court and such and am planning to drive, so I'm not too concerned about that. I'm assuming driving would be better than the intenal bus system?

I'm just looking for some feedback and maybe some tips/advice. Thanks.

We have booked a room there as well, for July, I've only seen a few pictures of the room itself, the themeing is outstanding, and I expect it'll probably be one of the cleanest sections of CBR seeing as they're very new rooms. I, like you have, been waiting to hear more about these rooms too.

I do know (from another forum) that several people have been upgraded to deluxe resorts this week and next because the pirate rooms are "not up to code." I think, in reality, what that means is that they overbooked them. I also read that the furnishings were not exactly as stated, but that they are replacing the tables between the beds with the "barrels" eventually.

I'm hoping that all the issues are resolved by December. We're really excited, we're surprising our kids with this trip as an early Christmas gift.

The reason we chose CBR was based solely on the pirate themed rooms. Thanks for the info.

We are also staying in a Pirate themed room during the week of June 29-July 6.

Now I understand some about the furnishings etc.

But my main question is where are the rooms located compared to others things as part of the CBR?

To the main pool, food court, stores etc?

The pirate rooms are located in Trinidad South, which is pretty far away from the main pool and food court. There is an internal bus system but we plan on driving around the resort, as it is pretty large. I was told you could walk it in 15-20 minutes, but with the kids and all the walking in the park I don't think we'll be doing that often.

Thanks for the tip. We will also have our Van there so it may be the way to go.
