CBR or POP???

My family and I (3 kids -7, 5 and 2) are heading to WDW this September. We have grown to love POP and intended to go there again this year. With the hopes that we will be able to get Free Dining again, thus making CBR just a little bit more, and recognizing this will be the last year that our 2 y.o. goes "free", we thought about switching it up and trying another resort. We have previously stayed at Riverside and loved it. However, we know that with a family of 5 our future trip resorts will be limited due to our size(meaning we will likely go to POR, AOA or 2 rooms at POP down the road). Our kids love the look of CBR's pool and I appreciate the zero entry! So, what are your thoughts? Should we switch from POP to CBR? Also, how is the bus service there? We will be flying in and won't have a car. Thanks for your input!

Bus service at POP is great! The Hippie Dippie Pool is fun, just no slide. The only real difference is that CBR is huge and has a separate "check-in" building! POP of course does not have a table service restaurant. The CBR restaurant doesn't seem to be a fan fave, but we enjoyed it! CBR is a moderate resort of course, and if you enjoyed PORS , then you will enjoy CBR. The bus service at CBR does tend to be slow though because it stops at all of the different areas and Blizzard Beach I believe.
Overall, though my recommendation would be CBR. But, either choice, I'm sure you'll enjoy your trip!
Of course CBR has a beach, and crossing the bridge you greet turtles, fish, and many many birds daily! Kinda cool to hang out in a hammock and you can see a bit of fireworks from EPCOT there. Also, the Disney ducks there are very friendly! Have a magical vacation!:D

We like to consider CBR our home away from home at WDW. We stayed at POP for a quick MVMCP trip last year and found ourselves comparing the two daily. For us, there was no comparison. I read people's concerns about bus waits, huge spread out set up of CBR requiring long walks, etc and they have never been a problem for us. We stay in the same building every time in Martinique and never wait terribly long or have any of the issues others do. Likewise, things drove us nuts at POP that other people love or have no problems with. It's all what you are comfortable with and what sounds good. Either way you are at WDW and will have a great time.

We need time for things to happen.
No offense to anyone that loves CBR...but I am NOT a fan. The decor was blah, the place seemed just beat in general, the food offerings were sub par and the over all lay out of the resort (food and swim away from the front desk) was just poorly done.

The pool was definitely the best part of it but I would have to say that PORS and POFQ are a good solid 2-3 notches above CBR in all aspects.

If you can save some cash and stay at POP (which I've never heard a bad thing about) then do it..but if you're looking for a moderate I'd say
rock out one of the PO resorts for your cash.

Thanks everyone! We definitely like POP and feel it meets our needs, but realize this will be the last year we can fit in one room at the moderates. I guess we felt it was our last chance to try something different. However, the bus situation does scare me at CBR. Really, they go to Blizzard Beach too? Any suggestions on which building to stay in if we don't pay for a preferred building?

Have you considered any of the other moderates? We perfer moderates now a days simply because of the beds. 2 ppl in a double bed at Pop just doesn't works so much any more. We really like to hae 2 queen beds. Sure if budget makes us stay at Value we would but we if we can save up a little more and go for moderate we would.

We love POP. In May we stayed at CBR just for the pirate room. It a great treat and a cool room. We don't spend alot of time at the resort/room, thou.

Since we've been to PORS and will stay there in the future, that one's out. I just don't like the look/theming of POFQ. As for CSR, it just doesn't seem to be as family oriented, maybe due to the Convention Center. We also don't frequent AK, so it seems too far away. What would you suggest if I hadn't told you all of that ?

We also spend minimal time in the room, but thought the kids might enjoy more pool time this year since they are older.

FQ is my favorite moderate, mainly cuz of the size. You never need to worry where your room is cuz they are all close to lobby/busses.

We loved CSR this past summer. My boys (9&6) LOVED the pool. We never had problems with the buses. Our only issue was food. The pool area food stand closed at dinner time and it was a 10mn walk from our room to lobby. We were near a bus stop so would go to bus stop and take the bus to lobby cuz that;s the LAST stop in the loop. We had snacks in the room so it was only 1ce or 2ce we really needed to go to lobby area to eat. I would absolutley stay there again.

CB doesn't so anything for me. Sure the pirate rooms seem cool. Sure it's centrally located, but it's SO big that they have their own internal bus system. They only draw to stay here for me is that the food court is at the main pool area.
