CBR or PO riverside?

This is a HUGE debate with my dad. I can a devout CBR fan and he is a devout Riverside fan. Both have fantastic perks and benefits, both are beautifully spread out, and both are relaxing. Riverside has great river boat rides to DTD and beautiful wooded walkways. CBR has a great running path around the lake, watercraft, and for me, the best food court at Disney. The theme, the sandy beaches with shaded hammocks, the layout and atmosphere, and the fantastic pools are what makes it the winner for me. For my wife and I, this is the best place on property

Side note, we always request Aruba. Easy access to Olde Port Royale, great view across the lake

I agree with you. Plus I love that steel drum music!

Unless or until they put queen beds in CBR (and give it a little refurb), our choice will always be PORS.
(We love the Caribbean theme and would love to try CBR, but DH is over 6' tall and is very uncomfortable in a double bed. We opted for PORS on our last trip and loved it.)

Unless bed size is an issue, you really can't go wrong. They're both lovely resorts.

I stayed once at CBR, never at POR. I would have said POR, based on the fact I didn't much care for the CBR resort. However I visited the food court at POR last week for breakfast and pretty much I decided right then and there when I stay moderate it will be at CSR...or I might try PORFQ, but I would not stay at POR because it is a really popular resort apparently and just way to crowded for my preference...that food court made Roaring Forks like a laid back QS .

We have stayed at both, but have been to POR 5 times and CBR only once. I loved both. Both are spread out. Bus service can be a problem for all resorts. They stop at multiple stops within the resort before heading out, depending on which bus stop you are waiting. Great food courts. Beautiful landscapes. Awesome fun pools and multiple quiet pools. Great pool bars at each. The rooms are nice at both. We were partial to POR before we bought into DVC. I think with whichever one you decide, you won't be disappointed.

at POR is the lobby bus stop first or last on the route?
It changes. Ask the bus driver your first trip out and he/she can tell you what the schedule is for the week. We always do that. The first time we stayed there everyone had said the first stop was outside the lobby so that's where we went and that week, it was the last stop.

We need time for things to happen.
I would say about 85% of the "should i stay here or here?" questions posted on these boards always involve one of the two port orleans resorts as one of the choices.

That speaks volumes.
