CBR Choices

Getting to the point that we are going to be requesting a building number/location. Any recommendations?

I have been looking at the map and I think Aruba 51 and Jamaica 45 look pretty good. My next three would be Aruba 52, Trinidad North 31 and Jamaica 46. Couple of more questions. . .Can you see Illuminations from any of the CBR 'Lands"? Also, what are the chaces of getting the building you ask for? Especially if you are not able to check-in until 2 to 3:00 p.m. on a Saturday.

The best place to see Illuminations from CBR is at the main pool and cabana bar. You have an unobstructed view across the lake.

Hi!

The best rooms in Caribbean Beach, view wise, are locate din the Aruba village. You will ahve the early morning sunrise and be on the quieter side of the lake, yet only a short 4-7 mins walk to Old Port Royale. For great unobstructed lake views (b/c a lot of "lake views" merely just face the lake, but are covered by the abundant foliage) request a room in Aruba 5256--5261. They are also on the second floor, which is really nice. Both rooms 5256 and 5257 are corner rooms, over looking the lake and practicaly the quiet pool. These rooms are a MUST for us each vacation.

You mention a first choice being Aruba 51. I don't know if this will hinder your plans, but Aruba 51 is designated as a smoking building. But if you are a smoker or want to risk getting a "not too bad of a smoky room", Aruba 5152--5154 offers great second floor unobstructed views of the lake (we know this b/c Aruba 5153 was our first ever room on Disney property, we fell in love, but then they turned it into a smoking building).

As for Jamaica, there are not as many direct views of the lake, but more of sideways views over looking courtyards and then trees and then lake. But still, many nice views are possible.

I hope I was able to offer some help. Definately try for Aruba if you can, it's great there. Illuminations can also be seen for the most part from the Aruba bus stop, which is practically right across the street from Epcot.

Oh, and also, if you are in Aruba, the lowered numbered buildings are a little bit more of a walk to the Aruba bus stop, which for some reason is located behind Aruba 56, the last building of the complex, and is confusing to get to But dont worry. The short, organized way (if you are in 51--53 buildings) is to head to the quiet pool and take the entrance closest on the far side from you (actually walk around the pool) and follow that "main" path directly to the bus stop. It spits you out around Aruba 55. Couldn't be easier (but I know as kids we got lost a lot).

Enjoy the Aruba beach as well, and just the allure of the colorful retreat. I wish I was going there soon too!

Oh, and also (LOL) those Aruba 52 room numbers I gave you really are good. CBR has postcards that are actual photgraphs and the photo that they use (which I am looking at now as I type in my college dorm) is at Aruba 5256--5261. That wing of rooms is how they are selling and advertising their beautiful Resort. Hope I was of assistance and that everything goes well.

Great advice. Especially about Aruba 51. I will cross that one off my list. We are currently set up with a dream maker package and I did not specify a "View Room". Are the outward facing rooms in Aruba 52 still convenient for all the other reasons? Also, any idea on Trinidad North? The location looks pretty good.

Aruba 52 is great. ANy water view room is about 10 bucks more per night at moderates--not too shabby. Like I said, it's very close to Old Port Royale, its quiet pool and beach and laundery facilities.

Trinidad North has a quiet pool located right next to the internal road, whch always struck me as odd. It also has the smallest beach. Other than that it should be perfectly fine. You will have a closer walk to OPR, but will not get to "explore" and wlak across Parrot Cay Island as if you were staying at Aruba or Jamaica.

I always felt that staying on the opposite side of the lake afforded you more opportunity to enjoy the ambiance and scenes. But any Island is perfectly fine, I am just very particular wih my favorites.

I am also staying at CBR for the first time this November. I was thinking about requesting a room in Aruba also. How do you request the room? Do you just call the resort or is there another way you should do it? I've never requested a room in advance before, just at the desk upon check in. So, it's best to watch illuminations by the main pool? Good to know. I knew that you could see Illuminations good from the resort, so I'll have to remember that's a good spot. Also, does anyone know if they are still having the promo for free fridges at deluxes and moderates? I was thinking of getting one, but it's not important enough to pay the extra $10 a day.

I beleieve it was said that all moderates and deluxes have fridges already in them, you don't even have to ask.

In reference to requesting rooms, call a little under a week from arrival and give any specifics you want within reason. We have always gotten what was asked for, they do a really great job.

Just remember that even though they usually honor requests, there is a good chance (esp. if you are checking in late) that you will not get your request. That happened to me at the Boardwalk last August..

That being said, Aim for a building in Aruba, one of my Fav. buildings at CBR..

1. Which is the 1st stop, Last stop in the "island" loop.
2. Times to Epcot and MGM. Can we see the Fantasmic Show and return to CBR?
3. And would it be better to go to Epcot and ride the Monorail to the Magic Kingdom or to Bus over to the Magic Kingdom. My Family has 2 Character breakfasts (Cinderella/Chef Mickey) that I need to consider in park travel.

2)By Boat it takes about 30ish minutes to get from Epcot to MGM, by bus it takes about 10ish minutes depending on the waiting time for the bus.

3)Take the Monorail to the TTC and then either take the Monorail or Ferry to the Magic kingdom from the TTC

I am also staying at CBR in December. I asked for a preferred view and I was wondering what kindof room that will get me? Will it be close to Port Royale or the beach? Also how crowded are the bus lines for this resort in December? This is my first time staying there, I have stayed at POR and other deluxe resorts in the past.
