Wow this thread got really off topic since I left....

I wish CBJ could live up to Tokyo's version.

I'm actually pretty impressed with animation of the Jamboree post-refurb. I don't even mind that the show is a little abbreviated. It goes straight to the music this way.

For the record, I was never really a fan of either the vacation or Christmas overlays.

I wish CBJ could live up to Tokyo's version.

How is it different?

I think Disney is trying to cut back on Christmas visitors. I could be wrong. But they've cut so much of the Christmas stuff that I cannot think of any other explanation. The CB show is gone. The Lights of Winter are gone. The MVMCP is bordering on pathetic now. The hotels are not decked out like they once were. There are even rumors about what may happen to the lights at DHS.

I think they're slowly getting rid of Christmas. At the very least, they don't seem invested in it. At all.

If they got rid of those racist ;) Country Bears, I'd miss them. If they were replaced with something fantastic, I'd live.

And on another thread, someone made a comment that this is the last year that garland will be strung on Main Street. I guess this has to do with the size of the floats in the new parade. Don't shoot the messenger, just relaying what was posted in another thread...

I love the Country Bear Jamboree. Here is a tie to the CBJ that no one else has. in 1973 my dad was 28 and went to Magic Kingdom with my grandparents, who were both in their 60s. They all loved the CBJ. My dad to this day still loves it. I was born in 1980, my grandpa passed away in 1982. I never knew him, but I knew his favourite attraction was CBJ. So from a sentimental standpoint I've always loved it and I am entertained by it. It hasn't changed and since when is that a bad thing? Is it a bad thing to know that the same songs my grandpa heard and got a chuckle out of back before the world was paranoid about everything are the same ones I heard?

It is typical in our world to attack anything that doesn't have the gripping tension of texting another person but CBJ has a charm that no upgrade or overhaul can compete with, and that's part and parcel as to why we love Disney so much. It is unique. Find me another attraction in the world like CBJ. You can't, so let's leave it as it is for the people who DO love it, and there are a lot of us.
