CBJ Movie

When I first heard the news, I thought it was a joke, that makes me wonder if this movie is really necessary. It's DISNEY vice-versa, instead of making a ride with a movie theme they made a movie from a ride! Really weird...

I hope it is decent, as it will affect the way CBJ will be viewed, unfortunately. However, I don't want it to be a huge success either, as it may RUIN our Jamboree...

Well, maybe it will be a sucess, maybe it won't, after all, it IS opening the same day as Austin Powers III. Say, which movies will TCB be up against anyway this summer?

First of all the upcoming blockbusters: SPIDERMAN! and STAR WARS: ATTACK OF THE CLONES.
Then, other competitive movies may be Gangs of New York, Signs, Scooby Doo and Red Dragon.

More details

Thought you guys would be interested to know this stuff.

Cast: Christopher Walken (Reid Thimple), Deidrich Bader (Officer Cheets), Daryl Mitchell (Officer Hamm), Queen Latifah (cameo), Stephen Tobolowsky (Mr. Barrison), Meagen Fay (Mrs. Barrison), M.C. Gainey (Roadie), Eli Marienthal (Dex Barrison), Alex Rocco (Rip Holland)

Cast (Voice): Haley Joel Osment (Beary Barrison), Charles S. Dutton, John Hiatt (singing), Julianne Buescher (Tennessee)

Cast (Unknown): Brad Garrett, James Gammon, Richard Kind, Stephen Root; (unknown if they are playing humans or bear voices)

Music: Five of the songs will be written by country singer John Hiatt (source: The Hollywood Reporter, 1/4/01).

Sequel Note: (7/25/01) According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney has already hired Paul Rugg to work on a sequel, envisioning this as the first in a franchise of films.

TV Show: According to the MousePlanet site, Disney may be hoping to use this movie to pave the way for a TV show that would be like a cross between The Muppet Show (the original, very funny one) and Hee-Haw, focusing on country music (obviously).

Premise: This is the story of a 10-year-old bear named Beary (voiced by Osment) who is raised by humans (sort of Tarzan in reverse... with bears), unaware that he is adopted (hey, I didn't say Beary was a bright bear). Discovering the truth about his bear-itage, Beary sets out to Tennessee, to seek out his family and purpose in life. There, he discovers that the famous Country Bear Hall is about to be torn down by a human banker, Reid Thimple (Walken). Beary then seeks out the legendary band, The Country Bears, such as Big Al and Liver Lips, in the hopes that they can reunite (like in The Blues Brothers) and save the concert hall...

AND.....rumor has it a Pirates of the Carribean movie is in the works!!!!

More on the way.:sohappy:

This is getting erie. In the beginning of "Unoffical Guide to WDW" book, it presents a fictional story of how the V.P. over movies finds out that the writers have run out of ideas for original storylines for their next big movie. So the V.P. orders that they start "morphing" the classic plots together, to get a movie titled "Pocahontas: The Little Hunchback Mermaid of Notre Dame."

If they're turning to more WDW attractions for movie ideas, maybe the creative well is running dry. :(
