Castle question

A friend of mine was asking me who designed cinderella's castle. I am under the impression that the base idea came from a castle in Germany but have never really known if one person sat down and designed it or if was a collaboartive work. Any thoughts or answers?

Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland came from an actual castle in Germany. A friend of mine was in Germany and took the picture just for me. I am not sure about Cinderella Castle though.

Herbert Ryman designed Cindie's castle at WDW, and it is a compelation of many Europien castles.

Cinderella's castle was influenced by a castle in Spain. I forget exactly what city in Spain ,but I think the castle was called The Roman Aztar. I don't think it was Aztar ,it was something like that.
