Castle overlay

I really liked the 50th Castle overlay, but I also think it needs to go after the 50th is over. To me, why permanently alter what has been the symbol of the Magic Kingdom and the Walt Disney World Resort? (But sigh, look what happened to SSE). If they had to keep something though, I think the sparkle swirls around the towers and turrets are pretty.

Also, hopefully, this is reading too much into things, but if you check out this promotional e-mail I received, at the end is the castle with the golden figures presumably edited out leaving just the golden accents and the mirror. Or maybe it's just a picture that was taken during the decorating phase.

Will try and find out. As far as we know the stained glass window is the only thing not staying.

I was under the impression that everything would be removed. As much as everyone (including me) might love the golden statues for a year, they destroy the forced perspective of the upper towers. I know that the mirror is definitely leaving, and the Cinderellabration set pieces are definitely staying. I'm not sure about the gold gilding, though; but I personally look forward to having the regular castle again, along with a normal SSE at Epcot.

It's just a stock photo. All of the new campaign photos are using old footage of the castle without any extra decorations. Disney re-uses their own media all the time; the double-decker bus is still shown in Epcot footage on Resort TV!
