Castle Dream Lights Questions

Can anyone tell me if the Castle Dream lights are shown only during MVMCP or can they be seen on non-party nights during the holiday season as well?

Also, I know you can see Wishes from the Cali Grill at the right time - can you also see the Castle Dream Lights from there?

In other words, my main question is, is there any way to see the Castle Dream Lights without going to MVMCP? Thanks in advance!

Yes, the Castle Dream Lights are turned on every night during the Christmas season and would be very visible from the California Grill.

Thank you both. That's just what I needed to know. Working on a very short early December 2012 trip. I know it's far off, but I need to do something these days to get my Disney fix!

I saw the Castle lights in 2010 on a regular non party night. I will never forget as long as I live. I hope you can squeeze your trip in. It is something amazing to behold.

As said above, the Castle Dream Lights are turned on around 6 (or when it gets dark) during the Christmas season, every night, with a little lighting ceremony.

My words of advice:
We went to the MK our first night, and we had never seen the Castle Lights in person. We thought about going to get some dinner and skipping the lighting ceremony. At the last second we found a good spot and sat to watch the ceremony. Wow! It was the best possible way to see the lights the first time. It would have been much less dramatic to walk out of a restaurant and see them. WATCH THE CEREMONY. Sure you could see them from CG, but it is so much more magical to watch the castle being lit.

Totally agree w/the pp. We've been to WDW many times, but this last time was our first time to see the lights. It was the first night of our trip, we were exhausted and starving + the park was starting to empty out for MVMCP, but we found a good spot and watched the little ceremony and the lighting (which as others have noted, takes place every night- happens before MVMCP on nights where the party is taking place0 i.e. so anyone in MK can see it w/o any special ticket, etc.)...and it was SOOOOOOOOOO worth it!!!

Not the best quality, but found this video of it
