Just got back from my November Disney World trip.

I was sitting on the terrace next to the Rose & Crown. While sitting there, a party joined my table...one of which was a cast member for corporate. I had a lovely conversation with her and her family. She couldn't tell me her handle but says she frequences this board...

I just wanted to say hello to her.

And to all the cast members out their who did such an excellent job, as always..thank you...

especially to the 3 cast members, that later that evening, made my night at the closing of the Food & Wine Festival...

also

On November 14th...while at Epcot, I witnessed a cast member (at the Italy pavillion) play soccer with a little boy to occupy his time before Illiminations. This cast member made that little boy's night and my wife commented on how so many cast members go the extra mile...

I wished that I had taken the time to get his name...

If you remember what he looked like, where exactly he was, and the time you were there, that might work!! :D

okay...across from Italy...on that bridge...he had dark hair and was with another cast member...making sure people didn't cross the line before the show ...sounded like he may have been French...

It was around 8:00-8:30..

The boy had just gotten a new ball and was kicking it around...his parents were telling him to stop because the ball kept going off target and towards other guests...the cast member saw that the boy really wanted to play and so he started showing the little boy a "soccer trick" to keep him amused.

I really must get better at getting names...

The cast member kept to his task...just took a moment to make a little boy happy...in my opinion he represented what Disney stands for...

Might get him in trouble for playing soccer with the kid too! :) It sounds like it was a cool thing to do, but I'm not positive Disney would feel the same.

It would seem like it would be ok, considering all of the activities that happen before the parades at the MK. Like playing with balls, hula hoops, and bubbles.

I agree and I am sure Disney does too! It's all about guest experience and creating magic for the guest...the cm did just that. Way to go CM!!!!

By any chance was he wearing a plaid vest? I think I might know who this person is. It very well likely could have been myself or someone I work with (that is where the guest relations viewing area for fireworks is, and we often pass the time before the fireworks by doing small things like play catch or kick a ball around with children).

I can't remember...
The soccer ball was shiney...the little boy kept wanting to kick the ball around, but his parents were getting on him because the ball kept coming over to us...

the cast member taught him the trick where you step around the ball and kick it with the back foot...

the cast member said to the boy before he got back to work..."remember what I taught you..."

If he was French and working a special viewing area for the fireworks in front of Italy, I am almost positive it is a cast member named James. He is a guest relations cast member at EPCOT, and often brings little soccer balls and other toys out there to entertain guests. I taught him everything he knows (ok, maybe not)

Well tell him thank you for being such a fine example of what makes Disney so great in my eyes...
