Dam,

Well I have been here since Sat and went to the casting office today for my interview. I was really excited as the recurter wanted to Hire me but I was told that she could not because I would not be able to start tomarrow or on Sat with traditions. I am relocating from california and came out here to look for an apartment and hopefully get hired. The problem is I can not get an apatment till I have a job and it seams Disney will not Hire me till I am offical here and can start the very next day..

I am so depressed and do not know what to do. I had called over a month ago and was told that I would be given two weeks before I had to report if I was hired. It seams that is not the fact. Now do not get me wrong..the recurter was awasom and really wanted to hire me and I do under stand that her hands are tied. I just can not beleave that Disney will not let a new hire have any time to either give notice to an employer or even move???

The recuriter told me that once I am offical here or when I am getting ready to get on the plane to come back out to call her and IF there are any spots open she would do what she could to get me onboard. She did say that I would not have to re-interview. I really appreciate her help but still really do not understand why Disney can not give an employee a chance to get settle. I realize that they run the risk of holding a spot for some one and maybe they do not show but I mean really....

I am now scrambling trying to find an apartment but its really hard to get one when you are trying to relocate from another state and you do not even offically have a position.

Anyone have any ideas. I am really upset.....HELP

Check out Buena Vista Place.. it's located less than 2 minutes walk from the MK tunnel.

Then try to get cast at MK so you don't need a vehicle.

Hope this helps.

Unless their policy has changed in the last year or so, I don't think this is true. I went to Casting for my interview and didn't have Traditions for over a week. (Can't remember exactly when my interview was, but I know I didn't come over for Traditions until 8/17/2005).

Disney is hurting for help so much right now I'm sure they'd work with you. I'd recommend calling the Jobline and asking to speak with a supervisor, telling your story in detail. They need so many people across property right now. Most full time CMs were working mandatory sixth days this summer, and were pretty upset by it (at least at my location).

First congrats on getting the nod to become a cast member, what I had to do when I moved down here was get an intent to hire letter from casting with info like how much you will make a month and how many hours you will work (it's on company letter head). The apt buildings just need to see that you have a job and can meet income requirements, so if you get that you should have no problem. That is what I did and it worked for my apt complex. It does seem weird though as far as being into traditions so quickly. They must have needed you asap or I can't figure out why they wouldn't let you move down!!! ANy other questions you know where to post!!!

It sounds like they really wanted me to start right away. I was hopeing that they were going to say ok your hired in say attractions and you are going to make X amount and your start date is say Oct 4th. and give me the letter for housing. But I was told that they can not hold a spot for two weeks because the spots are budgeted to be filled right away. I really do not want to cause wavs but it seams that if they are or have been hurtting for help that they would not have a problem giving a Cast member two weeks if not three notice to move cross country. Most companies would like two weeks notice when you leave.

I thought about asking for an intent to hire letter but like I said what if in two weeks there is not a spot in the area I want to work. I really do not want to work in food service or some place I will not be happy. Not the way I want to start a Disney Carrer.

Oh and Longball... Way ahead of you. I have been out to Buena vista place. I have an application and they have a wait list with one person ahead of me. The problem is since they are low income I can not apply till I have an offer letter stating what my wage would be...Grrrrrrr
