Thank you

Your suggestions are helping me make a framework to understand the area better and make a more informed decision.

Last time I went out one satruday and HAD to get an apartment before the end of the day (I did.) This time I want to take my time over a few days and really try to find a good fit for me.

I haven't left yet so any more opinions or good bad and ugly please speak up.

There are a bunch of apartments here in celebration that range in price from about 600 a month to well over 1000. Many of the homes here in the community have apartments over their garages that they rent out too (helps them out paying the mortgage).

I live in the Centergate Apartments, Centergate Celebration . These are the closest ones to World Drive.

You can find out about the community and additional contact information by going to Celebration or I love Celebration . You can also go to Forrent.com and just type in Celebration for the city.

While doing your evaluation of communities keep in mind that traffic on I-4 and in orlando can be atrocious. Even though rent might be a little higher here depending on what you are looking for, you will cut down on travel related expenses and commute times. That for me was enough to justify the slightly higher rent. For that matter, when I factored in time lost for commuting and gas and maintenance on the vehicle, I found that the cheaper rents elsewhere werent really that cheap.

The thing with Celebration is you either like it or you hate it. It depends on your personality and your reasons for picking a place to live.

Thank God for this thread. I am moving to the area next winter to work for WDW. I am planning on coming down in October to look for a place and don't know where to start, other than checking on the internet. Since I don't know the area that well, any info is good for me.

Celebration is Beautiful

I worked in the office park there for 1 year and spent a lot of time wandering the community.

But it is a bit pricy. I will take a look at what deals there might be there but I may have to wait for a higher income to move in.

Do you happen to know approximate rents for those complexes?

1 br 1 bath:

2 br 1 1/2 bath:

2 br 2 bath:

I live at Vinings at Westwood and pay $595 for 1 bed/1 bath. It's nice sized, Washer/dryer. Takes me about 10 minutes to get to work, about 5 of it on I-4. Although I leave pretty early, so traffic is not so bad.

That is a nice complex and really convenient. The issue for a new cast member is can one person pay that rent (+utilities +auto expenses +food +taxes) on... say 35 hours a week? "Take home" for that at entry level is (I'm guessing!) about 700 a month, right? So that means it would only work for

> a couple or
> a sharing arrangement or
> fairly steady overtime work or
> subsidizing with savings for a while

Other than that, I'd be giving serious consideration to renting a mobile home in Winter Garden/Apopka or Davenport/Polk County, a lower-priced apartment, or... that "room over the garage in Celebration" or downtown O-Town would be nice. And again, there's always the option of finding a roommate... plenty of potential roommates now advertising to find other roommates, so a person can pick-and-choose there, too. Sometimes it's not so bad having someone around to water the plants when you decide to ride down to Key West with friends one weekend.

You mean, like, plenty of Frito's brand corn chip snacks and really groovy music? For some unknown reason I don't get invited to parties anymore and so would not know 'good' from 'bad'.:D

haha. i think it was actually ranked the second best internship after one at playboy. i could be mistaken.

although, i did get drunk a lot, i didn't have the "pleasure" of picking up any STDs. i avoided the hot tubs to stay safe. ;)

i'll admit i did swim in the pool though. they weren't that bad. although it would of been nice if they actually put chemicals in there to kill off all the bacteria, but it's vista, so we can't really complain.

Ah, my precious Vista Way, where the girls are hot and the boyfriends are hundreds of miles away. Now I'm all weepy for my old stomping grounds. My favorite memory is coming in very late my first Thursday night and not being able to remember which building I lived in. Fortunately one of my new friends that I just met earlier that night was all too willing to let me use her couch. We became very good friends that summer. :D

A word to all you kids out there, if you ever want to experience crazy dorm life like it is depicted in the media don't go to college, go to Vista Way!
