Cast Member Dining Plan Discount

My room reservation was made by a cast member, with a cast member discount. I know cast members are entitled to dining plan discounts, too. Does the cast member have to purchase the dining plan for me, or can I do that myself and still receive the discount?

Also, what is the usual discount for the dining plan?

My BFF is a castmember, I visit her frequently.

The DDP is not always available when the castmember makes the reservation. I have never been able to add it later, she has to do that.

Curious, can the dining plan be added to the "other guest" room reservation or only to the reservation the cast member is staying in? Tia!
