This goes out to ALL the cast member at the All-Star Sports & Coronado Springs resorts. You made our trip last year (2008) unforgettable!!!

My husband and I are from New Orleans and we planned a long weekend at Disney for Labor Day last year. Unfortunately, Hurricane Gustav hit New Orleans the day we were supposed to leave, so all flights into the city were cancelled and we were "stuck" at Disney (oh - the horror! :animwink:). We were at the Coronado Springs resort and since we'd only budgeted for a long weekend, we needed to move to a cheaper room. The lovely cast members at Coronado Springs COMPLETELY arranged for us to switch to the All-Star Sports resort - they called over and booked the room for us and even transported all our luggage directly to our new room so that we could spend the day enjoying the parks.

Once we were at the All-Star Sports resort, we found out that power was down in New Orleans and there was a lot of wind damage and some flooding, so no one was allowed back in the city until further notice. So every morning my husband and I would have to call the airlines, find out if flights were allowed into the city, and then hoof it over to the guest area to see if they had room for us to stay another day. For six days in a row we did this, and every morning the cast members were always so lovely to us and acted like we were no bother at all to add to our stay and issue new keys. The room we were in was scheduled for someone else after the second day, but they were kind enough to let us stay in that room and switched them to another room before they arrived. There were also several other families from Louisiana at our resort, all of which had planned to leave at the end of the long weekend but couldn't get home, so management decided to knock the room rate down from $79.99/night to $39.99/night to help make the sudden expense of staying longer more affordable. I almost started crying when the girl at the desk told me this.

I wanted to share all of this because in a day and age when big-box corporations are taking advantage of American working families, Disney had the kindness and initiative to help a few families when it didn't have to. Disney is a huge company and none of us that were stranded were rich or powerful people, and we certainly didn't expect special treatment, so they could have gone ahead charged us full price and no one would have said anything. But they didn't. After this, I will never let anyone say a bad thing about Disney because this is a company with a soul, and they continue to fulfill Walt's dream for the American family. I loved Disney before, but now they have a 100% loyal customer on their side that will return every year if possible!!! THANK YOU!!!
