Ok..Excuse my ignorance here..Is the sausage in the Polish Hot Dog, different than a normal sausage..The pictures in today's EATINGWDW site, doesn't exactly wet my appetite..I've never had one before, tho I remember seeing them on the menu in Los Angeles at the famous " Pinks " Hot Dog place...I'll stick to my Chilli or the BBQ slaw dog...So is there any fans of the Polish Dog out there?..If so..How does it compare to the normal sausage.?...Also the mustard looks like our grain variety which I quite like, but caramelised onions..Yuch!...Your thoughts please..?

Judging by the picture and description I would assume that it is a Polish Sausage/kielbasa with coarse ground mustard and caramelized onions.

The term "sausage" simply refers to meet in a casing. What is in that casing can vary wildly and will determine what kind of sausage it is.

A typical Polish sausage consists of unsmoked pork shoulder and sometimes a little beef and veal, and seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic and marjoram, but there are literally dozens of other Polish Sausage recipes out there. Traditionally it will be boiled and browned, but there is no telling how they will be cooking it a Casey's. Caramelized onions are again a pretty common thing with Polish Sausage.

For me, it's going to depend on the quality of the sausage. The new healthier wieners they serve just don't have a flavor that makes me want another one, and toppings can only go so far. The Chicago dog just never worked for me, because it really wasn't a Chicago dog. With decent flavor and texture the Polish could be something to keep me coming back for more than fries to snack on late at night....and to get the coveted discount for merchandise on my receipt. I'll give it a try in December.

Being from the second city it is hard for me to eat hot dogs or polish in Florida. Don't even get me started on pizza and italian beef. I could give the Casey's polish a try, but I won't hold my breath. I know Casey's is a favorite with most but when you eat authentic Vienna Chicago style dogs basically as one of the four food groups around here, its hard to take it seriously. Sorry.

@Master Yoda can correct if I'm wrong but aside from everything else, doesn't kielbasa tend to be more spicy than most sausages?

For me, I think I'll pass. I prefer Italian sausage when it comes to having sausage on a bun although I'll probably give the brats in Germany a bite sometime down the road on my future visits to WDW....

Not really. You might be thinking of a Chorizo which can pack a punch.
