An intersting fact here is that Composer Carl Stalling and Directors Friz Freling & Chuck Jones all worked at Disney...Friz worked on & Carl composed the earlier Mickey shorts. While Chuck worked the in the early 50's for about 4 years just after the WB's Animation studio shut down.

I didn't know that.

On a non-Disney board I can not help thinking Bugs would knock out Mickey Mouse early an first round.
You're very right about this. This same poll was done on just a basic film/entertainment site (no Disney or no Warner Bros. fan base taking the helm). Just movies and entertainment in general. (I wanna say Rottentomatoes or IMDB, but not sure??) Anyhow, Bugs clobbered Mickey. I'd be surprised if the Mouse even received 25% of the votes Bugs won. And even in an issue of TV Guide channel awhile back, it ranked Bugs as the best cartoon icon of all time in a top-10 list.

Edit: Here's a poll I found just by doing a Google search on the subject (not the same poll I was referring to in above paragraph). But still it gives an idea of the overall consensus OUTSIDE of our safe confines of WDW fansites:

Bugs was destroying Mickey in the polls 140-something to 90.
Luckily Mickey has a much better fate inside our fansite of pixie and princess. And Mickey deserves some credit. No other cartoon icon makes guests so willing to shovel out their money at theme park gates the way he does.

While Mickey is certainly the more lovable of the two, he seems rather square next to Bugs Bunny. In a dual of wits, the Rabbit would reign over the Mouse. Bugs has a witty charm about him, and an intelligent sense of humor which seemed rather lacking in Mickey's persona. Bugs would also stay three steps ahead of his nemesis in most occaisons. Mickey is just, well, a happy innocent mouse, but not much more depth to it.
