Cars trailer

You know... that preview really didn't impress me. But who knows, the initial teaser for Finding Nemo didn't either, and that turned out to be awesome.

Anyone know what the plot or storyline for Cars will be?

I wasnt impressed either....

Read this on a website...

"Cars, the seventh CG-animated film from Pixar, is billed as a "high octane adventure comedy that features a wide assortment of cars as characters who get their kicks on Route 66."

The exclusive trailer on quicktime.com was pretty impressive. Plus, I've always loved animated cars with windshields for eyes and grilles for mouths. I remember some Disney shorts like that when I was a kid, and have always been fascinated by them.

I think as a kid I would have loved the thought of that film. Right now, it's not doing anything for me. We'll see how things look next year when it's ready for release.

Just curious...

What didn't you like about it?

I thought it looked kinda funny...especially the beat-up truck with the goofy teeth

Civilized/expensive/suave personality...tagging up with a uncivilized/beat-up/goofy personality.

I just hope that the "Nascar" feel of it doesn't overtake the entire movie like it did the teaser. It just seems like maybe the Race Car got the "boot" from Nascar and teams up with another loner. (Kinda like Pumbaa and Timon).

It just did not stike a chord with me. I'm not a NASCAR fan. so having a hugh chunk of the advert concentrate on that did not help. It just did not have the humour I've come to expect from a Pixar trailer.

I guess it was plain boring.

Eh....I'm not too sure about this one. I'm not a NASCAR fan either, so we'll have to see how it turns out. Seems like Pixar can never release a good teaser trailer....I thought Finding Nemo and The Incredibles would be stupid when I first saw their teasers.

Am I the only one who thought the beginning made it look like the trailer was for A Bug's Life 2?

I'm not a NASCAR fan at all, but usually these teasers aren't completely representative of the entire film. Let's sit tight for a year and see what happens. :D

I enjoyed all the other Pixar trailers but something about this one....maybe it just reminds me too much of those Exxon comercials.....

I was the huge oddball out on liking the Nemo preview. I loved it!

Anyway, the problem I see is that nothing new is done, nothing origional. It looks like a big movie of those Cheveron ads awhile back, with better graphics. Toy Story showed you what it was like when you left your toys alone, Monster Inc showed what went on beyond your closet and where the monsters lived, Nemo added a backstory to all those aquarium fish you see in dentest's offices. Cars, well, eh...

I agree, the Finding Nemo teaser trailer made me think, "Oh, that looks dumb." Thankfully, I was SOOOOO wrong, as I am hoping I am with Cars. However, I do have to say I really enjoyed the Monsters, Inc and The Incredibles teaser trailer... both had me cracking. :)

I actually liked the trailer for the Incredibles, with the struggle to get the belt on.

Me too! I saw that one and told my wife that movie is going to be even better than Toy Story (And I was right!) Cars? What a horrible trailer! I was more impressed by the Son of the Mask trailer. Maybe they want to save their good stories for after they leave Disney?

I too thought this trailer was bad. I think that this gonna be good for little kids, and boring for adults. The only scene I liked in the trailer was the beginning sequence, which you saw the bee squashed by the car, and the car gets worried by it. I thought that was the only funny thing about it. If you still want to know what it's fully about, read here:

From ComingSoon.net:

The seventh animated feature to be created by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures, is a high octane adventure comedy that features a wide assortment of cars as characters who get their kicks on Route 66. It features the voices of Paul Newman, Richard Petty, Owen Wilson, Bonnie Hunt, Dan Whitney, John Ratzenberger, and Larry the Cable Guy.

With Owen Wilson as the led car?? I think that was a bad idea.
