I was in West Palm Beach in February maybe 6 or 7 years ago and temperatures were in the 40s. I couldn't believe how cold it was in Florida. It was a rare cold snap but apparently not uncommon.
One infamously cold episode in WDW occurred during Marathon Weekend 2010, when it snowed and sleeted during the half marathon. This video shows highlights from the entire race, but the good stuff starts around the 1:50 mark
The marathon the next day was even colder but without precipitation; temperatures at the start line were in the 20's. Runners routinely bring old sweatshirts to wear before the race starts, and discard them in the first mile or two after warming up. I personally know several people who ran that year who picked up random strangers' discarded sweatshirts off the ground to put back on, in an attempt to keep warm. Check out these outfits around mile 10 a couple hours later, keeping in mind that runners typically dress for temperatures 20-30 degrees warmer than actual because of the heat they generate

Water spilling out of discarded cups at the water stops created icy patches on the road, and (without any salt to use) the volunteers had to sprinkle PowerAde powder on it in an attempt to give runners some traction. Here's a photo of some ice patches on the ground near TTC that day (not on the course)

The race weekend was so miserable that Disney had to bribe people with free park admission the following year to get registration to fill up, which is something they would never consider any more
On average, DLR tends to have more chilly days than WDW, but when WDW gets cold it can be brutal. It happens a few times a year and they know how to handle it (such as covering delicate flowers, which can be easily seen in Google Earth's historical images of Future World with some regularity), but it tends to catch people off guard during their semi-tropical vacations. I would just love to watch the "Oh no, water is falling from the sky! It's the end of days!" soCal folks try to cope with a hard freeze in Anaheim
Anyone planning to go to Disneyland this Friday? High of 78 with rain. It means we can enjoy low crowds without getting chilled from being wet. And this time there won't be any lightning to shut down the rides either.
