An update from Screamscape--use the usual judgement, of course.

2004/2005 - Auto Stunt Show - Rumor - (5/14/03) Is the park planning on bringing the popular new Stunt show from Walt Disney Studios Paris to it’s Florida counterpart? That seems to be the popular rumor just starting to spread throughout the park. The latest word is that several construction markers have been seen on the grounds along the Residential Street area and CMs have been ordered to clear out the houses that are used as storage for the Osborne Lights to prepare for demolition to begin.

Thanks for the update! Of course, screamscape has been wrong before, but they were right on the money with the Everest rumors.

Maybe Coasterbp could verify if this is what he has heard. A simple yes or no wouldn't harm :) He reported seeing these markings in the backlot also.

This show is FANTASTIC, I saw it about 6 months ago and would be terrific. However, I would suggest putting it where Indiana Jones is now, seems that show is rather tired and dated now. Save the balcklot for Osbourne/future expansion in an already limited space.

Perhaps the markers are signs that the Residential street area will be replaced with a new area to the park...I mean the auto stunt show sounds great...but maybe its not this show at all, perhaps the long awaited expansion for MGM will take place in the residential street area....but hey what ever happens it should be interesting. (I would hate for the Osborne lights to go.....its been a great tradition at Disney and a wonderful thing to see in the holidays). Just my opinion. :brick: :hammer:

The Lights are not planned to be removed...just moved. And, it would be my feeling that not ALL of residential street would need to be removed, so they could still have the tram go through the there by minor re-routing...they could even rebuild the missing homes (or actually build new ones...) along whatever new road they build. I mean, they are not going to redo the opening of the tram tour again...and they aren't going to move/remove Catastrophe Canyon, so if this rumor is true, there will be a new road, and this area of the park will finally get a big name attraction (it is empty now...)

To respond to the question of the size of the area:

If you include the former Backlot Theater area, Washington Square, and Residential street you have an area about three times greater that the Great Movie Ride show building.
