Cars 2 Discussion Thread

Although Cars 2 had its funny parts, it seems like Pixar dropped the bomb on this one. The trailer throws us off because it implies that Lightning McQueen is the main character, like in the first film. But in reality, Mater is the star while Lightning is only used to explain why Mater is in Europe and Asia. Had they just kept the original realase date of summer 2012 to work on it just a little bit, I think the film would've done better.

I love Cars...but aside from the gags, Cars 2 had zero heart. It was clearly just a way to grab more merchandise money.

No idea how this works but when I first saw Cars I really didn't like it. I watched Cars 2 at Christmas last year and loved it. Then I went back to Cars and appreciate that now as well :lookaroun
