hello all! going to disney for my honeymoon in April & i was thinking about booking a carriage ride. just something different & romantic that we've never done before. in my research i've discovered there are 2 resorts where we can do this. the fort wilderness & port orleans riverside. what i want to know is has anyone done this before? and which would be better scenery? is there anything else i need to know? thanks!

We Did the one at Port Orleans it follows the pathway over to French Quarter than back to Riverside.
They seemed to start at around 6:00pm really enjoyed the ride.
Here's a picture we took from the boat ride over to Riverside.

thanks for the reply  i just wish i could make up my mind which resort to do it at. i'm leaning more towards the port orleans one but thats mainly cuz its closer to where we'll be staying. sorta hoping someone could tell me which has the best scenery. if i'm paying that much for a carriage i want it to be worth it! ya know? but anyways thanks again! :)

Both resorts are beautiful, but Fort wilderness is a campground so unless you are into that you might prefer POR. IMO POR would be a nicer ride, FW you will see campers coming and going, golf carts whizzing by, and busses passing. We love camping and have camped at FW and we also have stayed at POR too many times to count, so if I would have to give a suggestion it would be POR.

I love Fort Wilderness, but I think Port Orleans would be best for the carriage ride. Took my parents on it a couple years ago and it was beautiful.

My wife and I did the ride at POR this past October and it was wonderful. We did the last ride ( believe it was 9 pm ). It was wonderful. We went into the lounge at purchased a couple of wines from the bar ( in plastic cups) and took it with us. The ride went from the main building at POR along the path to PORFQ and through the streets at PORFQ and then the path back to POR. It was beautiful at night.

Knowing the grounds at FW I would think the only time of year it would be best is mid November - New Years when all the campers have wonderful decorations up.

Go with POR but either one is great. Fort Wilderness is more secluded and rustic but POR has great scenery as well. It's a no lose situation for ya.
