My suggestion is that WDW remove tomorrow land speedway and add Carousel of Progess 2.0. I would add on to the timeline, leaving the original as is. It seems impossible to submit directly to Disney imagineering because of fear of litigation over allegedly stolen ideas. I seek no compensation, would sign a release if called upon but this idea is pretty generic and maybe suggested before.

We had that already, it was called Horizons. It was where Mission: Space is located in EPCOT.

Horizons wasn't exactly Carousel of Progress 2.0, but it did feature scenes of future living that were a kind of sequel to Carousel of Progress. It was one of the best attractions at WDW, though.

I'd absolutely love a Carousel of Progress addition -- return the original to the way it was when it opened, and then build a new one with scenes from the 80s, 2000s, etc., but they're definitely not going to do that.

I worked for TWDC in a retail capacity for 4+ years. I had an idea for a portion of a waterpark slide. I called Disney legal in NYC, no less. No dice. They won’t accept ideas from their own people, much less outsiders, so there’s no release that even needs to be signed. They’ll only accept design ideas from specific creatives employed as such, and regarding specific projects they’ve been assigned to…that’s what I was told, at least.
Also, if you see them develop something that sounds like/looks like/resembles an idea you had years ago, they’ve probably already had it, and it was already probably thrown out there, and/or is sitting on a shelf, in some form or fashion. If you work for Disney, anything you create is a work for hire, and is theirs…as it is with most all companies, by contract.
Since I’d never get credit for it anyway, a pic of my idea below…!!! ;):)

Everyone has ideas of how they can design the perfect attraction or how they can improve on what Disney has already put out. You can keep dreaming up concepts all you want for your own enjoyment but unless you can get employment at Disney for that purpose, they will never see the light of day at Disney.
An unknown person can't walk off the street into any other company with ideas to improve their products and expect to get taken seriously.

Off topic, but not by much, if you like designing theme parks & rides you might consider getting a game called Planet Coaster. I have sooooo many hours in that game making awesome parks and rides. Not surprisingly, you can download rides suspiciously similar to some of the greatest WDW rides. and add them to your park. 🎢

Hey, if we can have 2 x Dumbo…
Dumbo is timeless! CoP is dated and for some reason a lot of people cannot accept the value of the past. Those of us that lived through a huge chunk of the past can appreciate the very real description of the past the CoP shows. Even myself, at age 35, I learned about the late 1800's and early 1900's that I was not really aware of. Technologically, the world has changed a lot just since 1948 when I was hatched. But it is nothing compared to the beginning of the 20th century. Young people today have absolutely no concept of what it was like before cell phones were superimposed on their faces and they see nothing else. CoP is history, it is the true start of Animatronics and how many theaters has anyone been to that circled around to different stages of the past. Plus it is one of the few remaining creations overseen completely by Walt himself. A person that todays youth cannot even identify, yet he directly brought a lot of positive experiences to them.

It was completely relevant when first seen and is now a wonderful example of the creativity and something that made the impossible, possible. We almost lost it more than once around the turn of this century but the public refound it and has done quite well since then. It needs to survive but it can never be improved upon as a historical attraction. They tried something different in Disneyland and it just didn't work. Even Horizons, as good as it was, could not continue to pull people in to the degree necessary to continue to exist. I guess, like World of Motion it didn't provide enough "thrill" to be considered worthwhile even though WoM was one of the best attractions ever built. Now they even have the nerve to say that something that was designed and built in the 1960's (CoP) and the 1980's (WoM) can no longer be built. Explain that to me. With all the technology that exists today they can't build something that was perfected 65 years ago. Total bull!

Unpopular opinion... Carousel of Progress should move to its own full pavilion at Epcot. Maybe where Wonders of Life is.

Should have a huge "Walt Disney: A Vision of Tomorrow" pavilion there... House Carousel of Progress in the center, that little Walt Disney animatronic show from DL in the Cranium Command theatre, the entire outside pavilion being a giant Walt Disney interactive museum, and some kind of really cool Art of Disney Animation simulator ride in Body Wars.
